[LLVMdev] The Next Win32 File System Problem
Yep, you found another bug. Unlike Unix, Windows does not allow a file
to be implicitly replaced via renaming. I'll fix it.

Questions about the methods of compilation.
Hi, I have some questions about the compilation of the llvm.
First, why the majority of the results of compilation are static library (
*.a files in the $(LLVM_HOME)/Release+Asserts/lib/), Why don't generate
dynamic link library (.so files in the directory). The exception is the
file libLTO.a and libLTO.so, why the library LTO were generated for static
and dynamic both? How to control the

[LLVMdev] Still Trying to Build on MINGW
1. I got the tools to build. Yay!
2. I got past all the annoying trouble with not finding header files. Yay!
Now I'm having problems with this:
llvm-ar rc ./libgcc.a libgcc/./_muldi3.o <and-lots-more-.o-files...>
C:\msys\1.0\home\llvm_home\install\bin\llvm-ar.exe: <invalid>: path is not valid
I'm investigating this with the debugger and so far I've learned that

I've tracked this down in the debugger. It is indeed a bug. The problem is
that Path::isValid() will reject a string

[LLVMdev] Still Trying to Build on MINGW
Greg,
Looks like Jeff Cohen already fixed this in CVS. Please update and give
it another shot.
Thanks,
Reid.

We're not. It's just a sentry value.

Is this fixing the issue, or just papering over it? Why are we trying to
load an archive member without a path set?

[LLVMdev] Configuring for the cfrontend build on Mingw
So the fundamental problem I'm trying to solve is how get my cfrontend
build configured properly.
The usual symptom of an incorrect configuration is the inability to find
various header files.
Here's some example spew:
$ /home/llvm_home/llvm-gcc-build/gcc/xgcc -v
-B/home/llvm_home/llvm-gcc-build/gcc/ -Bc:/msys/1.0/mingw32/bin/
-Bc:/msys/1.0/mingw32/lib/ -isystem

I've written a compiler front end for a custom language in OCaml which
features compilation and an interactive toplevel. Until now I am

[LLVMdev] writing a pass
Hi,
I'm having a problem with opt. According to the "Writing an LLVM Pass"
tutorial, all I have to do to get the Hello pass to work is:
cd ${LLVM_HOME}/llvm/lib/Transforms/Hello
gmake
cd $MYTEST
opt -load ${OBJ_ROOT}/lib/Release/libhello.so -hello < something.bc > /dev/null
First (just as a friendly reminder), someone may want to go back and
double check a bunch of

[LLVMdev] llvm-ranlib: Bus Error in regressions + fix
I ran the LLVM regression tests today (via make check) and noticed that
llvm-ranlib crashes with a Bus Error on my test system (a fairly old
RedHat 9 system), using the latest CVS version. I did some digging and
I think I know what the problem is, and I have attached a quick and
dirty patch that fixes the problem for me, but I need a suggestion
about how it should be integrated properly. Here

gccas is one of the LLVM tools; you have to build them before building
llvm-gcc and you should configure llvm-gcc with the --enable-llvm=[...] flag
unless the LLVM tools are in your PATH.

Samba + Windos XP/2k + Netbench Problem
Hi all,
there is a problem with the 'Default: nt smb support = yes' option in
smb.conf for at least Samba 2.2.3a and 2.2.4 (on FreeBSD 4.5-STABLE)
when using Netbench 7.0.2 on WXP or W2k clients.
If the client is set to run 2+ Netbench engines (to simulate 2+ real
clients) and 'nt smb support = yes', all but one engine fail pretty
quickly, usually during a movefile oder

Is there a diferent way to do this?
Hi,
I started creating a small class but I'm courious about how it is working.
To create a instance of my class "Partri" I write this at Rgui:
x <- new("Partri", name="Gilvan")
and to change the slot "name" of this instance, I write:
setName(x, newname="Justino")
It is not working, because when I type "x" at Rgui, it shows

Rename Computer on Domain
I can report that the computer renaming worked.
As it turned out, only the cn was incorrect ...
ldbsearch -H ldap://DC1 -UAdministrator 'CN=DT06'
dn: CN=DT06,OU=Desktops,OU=Computers,DC=domain,DC=com
objectClass: computer
cn: DT06
operatingSystem: Windows 10 Pro
displayName: WH23$
sAMAccountName: WH23$
... so a simple LDAP rename worked ...
ldbrename -H ldap://DC1 -UAdministrator

Change global env variables from within a function
Hi,
I've looked all over for a solution to this, but haven't had much look
in specifying what I want to do with appropriate search terms. Thus I'm
turning to R-help.
In the process of trying to write a simple function to rename individual
column names in a data frame, I ran into the following problem: When I
rename the columns within my function, I can't seem to get it to
