Hi, Actually I started with hello.cpp povided as an example pass and modified and made my pass which does randomization. I have been working on it and running over programs and it always worked fine but now lately i had checked out a newer version (llvm)which i believed was working fine too but now as i did some modifications and tried to compile my pass i got these errors. Thanks a lot for replying. I would check my system gcc configuration. I got very useful replies from dev list regarding my earlier question but yet not able to determine block size. That I want in total size of a block in a function in bytes and not just the number of instructions.LLVM Tool gives most of the information e.g function bytes etc....but not individual block. Thanks for the reply. I wish to compile without optimizations ( the option being turned off ) but still generate bytecode file. Options -S , -c removes optimizations but I also need .bc file to experiment and use further. How should I do it? But if i generate a .bc file like this and then run my pass over it like this : opt -load /home/llvm-cvs/llvm/Debug/lib/LLVMHello.so -hello <helloprog.bc> class_prog.bc Will the new .bc file (class_prog.bc) be also without optimizations ?opt also does some optimizations.Can I control them ? Hello, I'm trying to create a pure LLVM toolchain (that will not depend on GNU and produce GNU-free code too) on a musl based distribution. For now, I use gcc to bootstrap and build all LLVM components. I do it individually because I was running out of space and memory trying to build all using LLVM_ENABLE_PROJECTS. Unless I'm missing something, the problem lies directly with the fact that you are trying to do a link-stage operation with the GCC frontend. GCC, by default, probably runs "ld" or another system linker, which grabs the executable from binutils. This linker hasn't been modified (yet) to include support for .bc files, but you're compiler is emitting byte code to the *.o files.

Yeah, it's not linking the runtime because you're building a shared library. This is totally ok. In this case there are undefined __asan_* symbols that are resolved when an instrumented binary loads your library. What's wrong here is that some flag passed to ld prevents it from creating undefined symbols (--no-undefined?). This flag must be removed when building with ASan. This

conflicting builtins in clang with musl (stddef.h)
Hello there, I'm building a Linux distribution based on musl and LLVM as default toolchain (including lld/libc++/libc++abi/libunwind rather than GNU). For most of the time this works pretty well.
