SYSLINUX 3.63-pre3 release candidate; SDI image booting
Hello, I just received a serious bug report from Stas Kysel of rPath (with a great test case); it appears that deleted files can confuse extlinux so that it misses files. This is bad. As a result, I have pushed out 3.63-pre3, and intend to make a 3.63 final shortly. I would appreciate any help testing this. Furthermore, I would like to finish the SDI booting module, but I have yet to

How&Why to factor a com32 module into suitable for dynamic linking?
It seems that the com32 module is a raw binary file without any control infomation. To factor it into suitable for dynamic linking, we need add some control sections, but can we still tell that file a com32 file ? why we use the elf file format directly? Thank you -- Ziyu Yu

how to identify the outliers
Hello R-users, Is there any more sophisticated way how to identify the dataset outliers other then seeing them in boxplot? I wanna exclude them from further analysis and I am interested in their position in my vector data. Rado -- Radoslav Bonk M.S. Limit distribution of continuous-time Markov process
I have (below) an attempt at an R script to find the limit distribution of a continuous-time Markov process, using the formulae outlined at http://www.uwm.edu/~ziyu/ctc.pdf, page 5. First, is there a better exposition of a practical algorithm for doing this? I have not found an R package that does this specifically, nor anything on the web. Second, the script below will give the right

[cfe-dev] [GSOC 2018] Mentors and projects needed! Any help appreciated.
Hi Tanya, Is it too late to get some smaller projects for XRay in there? Here's two: XRay Function Coverage Mode: Implementing an XRay mode to gather function call coverage information. This will be useful in determining which functions in an application has been called either on-demand or throughout its lifetime. XRay Converters: Implementing conversion tools for XRay traces into

[cfe-dev] [GSOC 2018] Mentors and projects needed! Any help appreciated.
Hi Anton, Forgive me for the potentially dumb question -- but how do I do that myself? The monorepo doesn't contain the website source(s) and it's unclear how I can do that myself... I'd love to do it myself but I'm a little lost on how to do it. Help? On Tue, Feb 20, 2018 at 9:18 PM Anton Korobeynikov <anton at korobeynikov.info> wrote: > Dean, > > Please add

[GSOC 2018] Mentors and projects needed! Any help appreciated.
All, The LLVM project has had many years of success with the Google Summer of Code project and we would really like to continue our participation. However, without the support of more community members, we fear that we may not be selected as an organization this year. They are already reviewing projects and to improve our chances of participation we need more projects and mentors listed on the

GSoC- Speculative compilation support in ORC v2 , looking for mentors!
Hi Bekket, Thank you for your reply. Earlier I came across a paper called "Dynamic Look Ahead Compilation: Hide JIT compilation latencies", it devised some methods for JIT compilation of functions before the actual call takes place by using call graph analysis, branch probabilities to generate a list of functions with high likelihood of execution in near future. In my opinion it

GSoC- Speculative compilation support in ORC v2 , looking for mentors!
Hi all, I would like to propose "Speculative compilation support in ORC v2 JIT API" for this year GSoC summer project. Project Description: Speculative compilation support. One of the selling points of the concurrent ORC APIs is that you can start compiling a function before you need it, in the hope that by the time that you do need it it is already compiled. However, if we just

GSoC- Speculative compilation support in ORC v2 , looking for mentors!
Hi Bekket, Sorry for the delayed reply. By appropriate, I mean performance of compiled native code. I was referring other JIT implementations like LuaJIT & webkit FTL JIT to see how they implement their JIT. I have gone through the design of Spider Monkey & Android runtime (ART) JIT. As, you said both region based and method based compilation unit have their own advantage &

/run and /var/run as tmpfs - how many RPM's broken?
This is pretty much a retorical question, although I would like to know the extent of the problem and how quickly it's gonna be sorted. My problem has already been described in a previous post, i.e. clamd fails after a reboot. The cause apparently is that /run and therefore /var/run has at some point been moved onto tmpfs which means that it doesn't survive a reboot. The effect of
