[LLVMdev] Compiling errors from OptimizerDriver.cpp when compiling on MinGW
Hi, I didn't get a clear idea what to do whit this problem: OptimizerDriver.cpp seems to be unix platform specific. However, I'm compiling this on MinGW. Shouldn't this be moved to lib/System/<platform>? Any suggestions? -------------------------- c:/Projects/src/llvm/tools/bugpoint/OptimizerDriver.cpp:28:22: sys/wait.h: No such file or directory

[LLVMdev] Compiling errors from UnixLocalInferiorProcess.cpp when compiling on MinGW
This file (UnixLocalInferiorProcess.cpp) is due for porting and placement in lib/System but I haven't gotten there yet. If you come up with something that works on MINGW, please let me know. [nbdkit PATCH 1/2] server: Propagate unexpected nbdkit failure with --run
When running captive, we were blindly calling kill(pid) of the captive nbdkit child process, even if that process has already exited unexpectedly (most likely, from an assertion failure) and another opened in its place (pid recycling is rare, but not impossible). We need to check that the child process still exists, and if it unexpectedly died, ensure that our exit status reflects that fact. Note

[nbdkit PATCH v2 1/6] server: Propagate unexpected nbdkit failure with --run
When running captive, we were blindly calling kill(pid) of the captive nbdkit child process and ignoring failures, even if that process has already exited unexpectedly (most likely, from an assertion failure). Thankfully, because we did not wait on the process, we are guaranteed that the nbdkit child process is either still running or in zombie state, so no other process can recycle the pid yet.

rsync SIGSEGV signal handler in Cygwin.
Hello! I am using rsync compiled with Cygwin on windows. I must call rsync from the *.bat script (I don't want to use a bash on Windows) and I have noticed that in the case when program compiled by Cygwin crashes via segmentation fault and default SIGSEGV handler is called, then it terminates process with exit status 0 as I see it from my *.bat script. (But if I invoke a program from bash

"Unexplained error code xxx" in rsync-2.5.5
Hi. We sometimes/often get such errors. It occures in main.c/client_run(). I investigated further and found, that the waitpid() in main.c/wait_process() exits with -1, errno = ECHILD, which means "No children". *status can contain garbage in such cases - but not always. It happens under Solaris-2.5.1/SPARC. It (ECHILD) also happens on other Solaris versions - but there *status seems to

rsync --daemon and logfile that can't be created
If the rsyncd.conf has a line such as: log file = /var/log/rsync/log and /var/log/rsync doesn't exist or isn't a directory (or the log file can't be opened for any other reason), then there's no warning whatsoever, as rsync forks itself into the background before checking the config, opening the log file, etc. Worse still, it gets a SIGSEGV, and dumps core. Here's a strace

[LLVMdev] Segmentation Fault(Modifying BasicBlockPlacement.cpp)
Thanks a lot for replying Chris, I m trying to randomize the blocks in a program.I generate a random number( between the current "InsertPos" and the last block), and then iterate through the list of basicblocks , picking up block with position equal to that of the random number and place it into the current InsertPos and increment InsertPos. Running it like this:

[LLVMdev] Running a pass
Hi, I assume that since each pass is in its own anonymous namespace, we cannot directly create a new pass object; looking at the code for 'opt' utility, it seems we need a PassInfo object, using which we create a new pass object. I tried the following code (which I wrote after looking at the code for bugpoint), but the list of passes seems to be empty: // Create a list of all the
