Hello I have some older programs that require OSS and /dev/dsp I have tried the pulseaudio trick with padsp but some work and some don't. Memory limits for MDSplot in randomForest package
Hello, I am struggling to produce an MDS plot using the randomForest package with a moderately large data set. My data set has one categorical response variables, 7 predictor variables and just under 19000 observations. That means my proximity matrix is approximately 133000 by 133000 which is quite large. To train a random forest on this large a dataset I have to use my institutions high

Very odd issue w/ a CentOS 6 system
Now, this is one we have an issue with: it's got a bttv card, and motion running on it. It's a Dell PE R720. For some reason, it has never liked the card: 20 min after reboot, it says fatal bus error... but nothing's wrong, and it runs just fine. Well, expect that we need to keep it on the 2.6.32-431.20.3 kernel, because *everything* later, it randomly starts rebooting, several times a

bttv driver issue
Just installed Centos 4. Thank you guys. It seems there is no bttv module compiled into kernel. After quite a long time on my Linux journey, my tv card couldn''t be recognised for the first time by a RH based system. Or am I missing a conf issue here? hme

Hi, All: I only have 4 samples. I wish to get a confidence interval around the mean. Is it reasonable? If not, is there a way to compute a confidence interval for such small sample size's mean? Many thanks, U [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

[PATCH] Btrfs: fix orphan cleanup regression
In fixing how we deal with bad inodes, we had a regression in the orphan cleanup code, since it expects to get a bad inode back. So fix it to deal with getting -ESTALE back by deleting the orphan item manually and moving on. Thanks, Reported-by: Simon Kirby <sim@hostway.ca> Signed-off-by: Josef Bacik <josef@redhat.com> --- fs/btrfs/inode.c | 36

system hang with btrfs master
I''m using btrfs on two devices here, /usr on sda3 and /home on sdb (dm-crypt device on the whole disk). With btrfs-master the whole system hangs when accessing /home. The system hangs when I''m logging in into my account with KDE and is easily reproducible with dbench. On /usr the hangs appeared also but not as often as on the /home-device. I''ve tested on a third

X100P panic
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm experiencing frequent kernel panics when using the X100P card under the 2.6.6 Fedora kernel. I've attached the kernel output to this message - - it looks like the IRQ stack is overflowing and trashing some memory, causing a series of oopses followed by a complete crash. I have just hacked the kernel to reenable 8k stacks and will see

ext3 0.9.6 vs ext3 0.9.9
Hello, I have done extensive testing between 2.4.9 and 2.4.9-ac12 with ext3 0.9.6 and 0.9.9. I also tried using both kgcc and gcc-2.96. I have a problem with logging into xdm or starting the gnome-session totally locking up the machine while using ext3 0.9.9. It seems to go away using ext3-0.9.6. During xdm/gnome-session the hard disk is under heavy activity. I have attached my kernel config.
