libxml2 RPM via yum?
Hi All, I can't find anything via yum for libxml2. I also, for some reason, can't get to the source page for libxml2 here, http://xmlsoft.org/sources/libxml2/ Is there not an RPM via yum for this? Need it for a dependency for installing PHP from source, which I need to do, for certain reasons. Cheers. Mark.

Problem installing libxml2 under Homebrew
i am trying to install xml2 from CRAN, and it is throwing an error that it cannot find the libxml2 library configuration. The thing is that pkg-config seems to be set up correctly: $ echo $PKG_CONFIG_PATH :/usr/local/opt/libxml2/lib/pkgconfig:/usr/local/opt/libxml2/lib/pkgconfig $ pkg-config --cflags --libs libxml-2.0 -I/usr/local/Cellar/libxml2/2.9.7/include/libxml2

Re-installing the application may fix this problem" > library(XML) Error in dyn.load(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now)) : unable to load shared library

OpenSIPS on CentOS
Hello, I've been looking into OpenSIPS to see if it's a worthwhile addition to our setup. We're currently running a cluster, using Heartbeat, between two servers. It works well but I'm interested in seeing if we can improve it. My manager heavily uses RPM's for installations rather than source, particularly using yum to update. I'm trying to actually install OpenSips via

RHSA-2012:1288 libxml2 security update for centos6 skiped?
I saw libxml2 have a security update on https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2012-1288.html. But centos only update libxml2 for centos 5., it also affect centos6. Centos already update ppid(RHSA-2012:1269), looks like libxml(RHSA-2012:1288) skiped.... Any explanation?

Why does libxml2 limit port numbers to 999,999,999?
The AF_VSOCK protocol added in Linux 5.6 uses a 32 bit port number. For NBD we map this to simple URIs[1] like nbd+vsock://CID:PORT (where CID is a number that acts a bit like a hostname and PORT is a 32 bit port number). eg: nbd+vsock://1:1000000000/ would be port 10^9 on the loopback address VMADDR_CID_LOCAL (== 1). The problem is that libxml2 arbitrarily limits port numbers to 999,999,999.
