[LLVMdev] linking time
Hi LLVMdev, The stuff I am working on requires linking 9-10 LLVM libraries, along with a few libs of my own. The linker is taking a long time to do that, about 6 mins (on a P4 with 512 MB mem). I tried the latest (2.14) release of binutils, but that didn't help. Is anyone aware of any solution to this? Thanks, Rahul

On compiling for x86_64 on an i386...
Hi folks, Anyway, I have a main development system which is P4 based (without EM64T) and a dozen diskless Athlon 64's. I'd like to be able to compile kernel's, etc for the Athlons in x86_64 bit mode. Any idea how to arrange this? I've recompiled the src.rpm for binutils (added a single line "CARGS=--enable-targets=x86_64-linux" to the specfile) and "as

Re: Minimum CPU required for >60 calls
Adam, I thought Andrew Kohlsmith gave the individual good advice without intentionally malaciously spitting in the guys face. For the question, " 'Whats the ' Minimum CPU required for 60 calls? " I think a Pentium 3, high end, which is cheap right now, should do fine, but you will need either 3 T-1s or arrange for the calls to come in via SIP, but you will still need more

Music on hold quality..
Hi, Does any one have any pointers on improving moh quality?? Symptoms are crackling and hissing as the sound comes and goes.. I installed mpg123 this morning.. I have tried various MP3's sampled at 160k, 128k, 32k and 8k and they all sounded terrible... The PC is a P4 so its got plenty of processing power.. I have tried a few different types of classical music (Piano, Violin and full

Strange crashes on xen-box (imagemagick/mysql/swap)
Hi, I''m relatively new to xen but do never the less very much like the concept & trying to run xen on a production-web-sever. "Trying" because problems start to arrise and the circumstances are rather strange: (But quit to describe) When running imagemagick from apache mysql crashes with a Signal 11. (sometimes). The other strange thing is that no swapspace at all is

VoIP bad voice quality
Hi, We have Asterisk, running on a P4 box running Suse 9.1, making calls using IAX through SimpleTelecom and Nufone. What we are looking for is toll quality voice. The problem is that voice over calls routed through SimpleTelecom and nNufone occassionally breaks. We also have a digium card and the calls over the digium card using the Zaptel Interface have a very good quality. We

SPEEX Fixed Point Development
We are in the process over the next week to implement the Fixed Point algorithms into a 200 MHz ARM9 CPU with MMU and I was wondering if you had any experience/knowledge with possible pitfalls. We are running Fixed Point compilation on PC based system (P4 processor) and are noticing that the audio gets "noisy" and then comes back to a more normal voice. Are you aware of any issues with

[LLVMdev] [BUG] Support for .cfi_startproc simple
Hi, According to the GNU as documentation [1], .cfi_startproc simple is a valid directive. Unfortunately, LLVM complains with: error: invalid instruction mnemonic 'simple' I happened to notice it while attempting to compile linux.git with clang: see arch/x86/ia32/ia32entry.S:75. TE406P audio drops
Hello, Now that we've had our new Digium TE406P card in production for 4 days we have discovered audio drop problems that happen randomly across all channels. Here's more about our setup: P4-3.2GHz 2GB ram Slackware Linux 10.1 with custom kernel 2.4.29 Asterisk 1.2beta1 Digium TE406P quad T1 card with the following attached: - 2 x RBS D4/AMI 24 channel T1s - 1 x RBS B8ZS/ESF 24 channel

Call quality questions
Our basic system is as follows: P4 3.0 Ghz w/ HT, 1GB PC3200 RAM, 120 GB HDD, RH 9.0 OS, * from CVS several weeks ago, working OK for routing, VM, and AA, calls in on separate PSTN lines to Adtran TSU 600, into * server through T100P card. The hardware is not taxed at all with little over 20% proc utilization ever, low mem use, etc. All Phones are SNOM 200's with various firmware revisions

Sound Quality Problems
Thanks for reading this. I've been pulling hair for days trying to resolve this, and any help someone can give me would be very much appreciated. I have an Asterisk box that is basically a P4-3GHz, a Digium-recommended SuperMicro X5SSE-GM motherboard, 2GB RAM, 250GB IDE hard-drive with UDMA, a SoundBlaster Live! 24 sound card, a Digium Wildcard TE110P, and a Digium Wildcard TDM400P with 4

Noisy sound quality with Blackfin in WB-mode
Hello Jean-Marc, I disabled the Blackfin optimization functions one by one and found the error in libspeex/lpc_bfin.h in the autocorrelation computation. Compared to the fixed-point-variant of that function (from lpc.c), the blackfin-code produces correct values except for the zero offset value. Additionally, the loop after the ASM-code assigned values (ac32) wrong to the functions

Processor
Hi, I am interested in the thoughts of the people who know the architecture of Asterisk quite well.. What I am interested in is the performace difference of Celeron vs P4 vs Xeon.. I know Intel marketing says that servers should be Xeon, Workstations should be P4 and desktops should be Celeron and they are priced to the specific target market.. I am on a tight budget and so I am looking for the

RE : TDM2400p bad sound quality
Hi Francois, Thank you for your interest. I tried the card alone so I don't think is an IRQ problem (anyway is there a way to be sure?) To be sincere, in all systems I saw (even working ones) there is an IRQ balance failed where Linux boots. The system is new, I tried different processors (P4 and Celeron) with SMP kernel and without. The card has the echo module, could not be

[LLVMdev] Consumer ARM platform suitable for LLVM development?
Can someone with llvm-gcc/ARM expertise (Dale?) please review Sandeep's patch? The patch works for me in building an LLVM-based cross-compiler from x86_64/Linux to ARM/Linux. I have been able to build without the patch to the asm file, but several people have reported needing the asm patch on http://llvm.org/PR2545 . Noisy sound quality with Blackfin in WB-mode
Hi Bernhard, It seems like I messed up somewhere in the lpc code. However, it seems like your patch is also removing some code, which is probably why you see small differences between your asm version and the fixed point. I don't have my setup working at the moment, but could you test the following patch: Index: lpc_bfin.h ===================================================================
