Any Zaurus users??
Just wondering if there are any Zaurus owners out there using there zaurus as a voip phone?? I'm trying to decide which on to buy. The sl-6000 is perfect for phone use from what I've read, but it's not very pocket friendly (http://www.sharpusa.com/images/hpc_SL6000_pic1.jpg) The clamshell models (http://conics.net/shp/pda/zaurus-sl-c700/sl-c3000.html) are much nicer but would

X just died then restarted
Just had a weird thing happen that I've never encountered before. Running Centos 5.x (updated) on 32-bit (Athlon XP). Was going along in Firefox when suddenly my screen went black and the hard drive light came on mostly steady for several seconds. After a little bit I got back the X login screen. It normally comes up on F7, but F7 was dead (with some text I'll paste in below in case it

BIND issues, server not responding
Hi all, My CentOS 5 nameserver is seemingly unable to be queried by anything but itself (localhost, 127.0.0.1). From any other machine, including the primary which *does* transfer zone files correctly to this machine (which is secondary), requests time out. I've put SELinux into permissive mode, so I don't think that's an issue. /var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf begins thus:

[stuart.leask@nottingham.ac.uk: R in your pocket on a Sharp Zaurus]
Ah, but the interesting thing is that they are coming out with a 'clam' version like the 5MX. Details are limited at the moment, but that could mean the combination of 5MX usability with a supported linux distro. I am drooling in anticipation. Sounds like a "I've finally finished my PhD and deserve a treat" situation to me :) Dave On Thu, Mar 06, 2003 at 09:17:20AM

wich filesystem to store > 250E6 small files in same or hashed dire
Hi I need to store about 250.000.000 files. Files are less than 4k. On a ext4 (fedora 14) the system crawl at 10.000.000 in the same directory. I tried to create hash directories, two level of 4096 dir = 16.000.000 but I had to stop the script to create these dir after hours and "rm -rf" would have taken days ! mkfs was my friend I tried two levels, first of 4096 dir, second of 64

Testing Starcraft 2 newly release demo with Wine
Hi. Starcraft 2 just released a free demo so I thought I would give Wine another chance to prove itself worthy (because whenever I try to install Beta or the actual Starcraft 2 - it could run but it's slow, laggy and many many black screens). Alas - despite following blogs and advises to adjust wine and use git to download latest source codes

If so, how should I test it ?

virt-builder & virt-sysprep: Avoiding SELinux relabelling
A common problem that people have with virt-builder and virt-sysprep is which guests that use SELinux, like Fedora and RHEL. In both cases we touch /.autorelabel in the guest, which means the guest has to reboot once during its first boot. Recap: SELinux file labels -------------------------- SELinux requires that files have labels. Access to a file is controlled by the label on that file.

Dual boot box: WinXP & CentOS 5: Impossible to restore WinXP?
We rarely use M$ Windows, but I let my daughter surf pbskids.org while using Windows and a Trojan Horse modified or deleted the user32.dll file. I found the instructions on the Microsoft Support web site, and it would be very easy for me to expand a new copy of user32.dll if I could get the MS WinXP CD to work. It boots OK, I press a key so it will search hardware and it then has hard drive

how to optimize CentOS XEN dom0?
Hi, I have a problematic CentOS XEN server and hope someone could point me in the right direction to optimize it a bit. The server runs on a Core2Quad 9300, with 8GB RAM (max motherboard can take, 1U chassis) on an Intel motherboard with a 1TB SATA HDD. dom0 is set to 512MB limit with a few small XEM VM's running: root at zaxen01:[~]$ xm list Name ID
