Using Linux domain member machine account for WPA-Enterprise authentication
I've noticed that when a Windows computer that is in my domain connects to my WPA-Enterprise wifi it first attempts to authenticate with the SSID using the domain member's machine account, instead of prompting the user to enter their own credentials. Has anyone ever tried to do this with a Linux domain member? For example, my linux domain member laptop uses Network Manager as the GUI,

Using Linux domain member machine account for WPA-Enterprise authentication
Hi Michael and Samba-team, I found below message on the list, but it looks like nobody replied to it. I have the configuration setup on the Samba-side and indeed it works on Windows with machine-account authentication. It connects to wifi before a user logs in and there is no chance of lockout due to an expired user password in the wifi configuration. I would love to have the same working on

laptop wireless--orinoco_cs, can it do WPA?
Hi! I'm messing about with an old Toshiba Tecra laptop. i've got wireless working well using NetworkManager and WEP. But I'm interested in finding out if it is possible to get WPA/TKIP or other WPA variants to work with that driver. According to dmesg, boottime diagnostics include: eth0: Hardware identity 0005:0004:0005:0000 eth0: Station identity 001f:0001:0008:000a eth0: firmware

WPA Radius wireless authentication and CentOS 5
I previously had WPA radius authentication working from my laptop to my home network with the laptop running Fedora Core 6 and the server running freeRadius under CentOS 4.4 (freeradius-1.0.1-3.RHEL4.3). I'm attempting to move my FC 6 boxes to CentOS 5 so I decided to pick on the laptop first. Unfortunately, I neglected to backup /etc before doing the CentOS 5 install (bad Dave, bad

WPA question
HI I admit up front that I know just enough about wireless networking to know that I don't know much at all about it. That said, I'm hoping someone can help me learn a little bit... Specifically, could a laptop running Centos 5.1 be expected to (be able to) connect to a wireless access point using WPA2 security settings? I don't know if WPA depends on hardware support, or if

[LEARNING OUTCOME] Wi-Fi WPA Hacking Tool is Totally Useless on New Wireless Routers
Hi, I am sharing my learning outcomes. Recently I downloaded Kali Linux 64-bit Version 2018.1 and ran it on my HP laptop with the integrated Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 Wireless Network Card. I wanted to test if I could hack the Wi-Fi WPA password on Ruckus R700 Access Point (AP) and the Aztech DSL8900GR(AC) Wireless Router. So I started using the Reaver WPA cracking tool. I understand

MadWiFi and WPA working only on base kernel, not plus kernel
Interesting situation: First my system - HP NC4010, with Atheros pci mini card. Latest MadWiFi drivers from: http://atrpms.net/dist/el4/madwifi/ and wpa from: http://atrpms.net/dist/el4/wpa_supplicant/ I had just the madwifi working back in Jul at the IETF conference. But as open only. I had upgraded to the plus kernel, thinking it would get my internal SD card reader working (it

wpa_supplicant and wi
I am using a Netgear MA401 with the wi driver, and am having trouble using wpa_supplicant to set static WEP keys. I have the wlan_wep.ko module loaded with wlan and wi built into the kernel. ODP: Re: freeradius + NTLM + samba AD 4.5.x
Hello, I can definately confirm that it's working. My basic setup is: 1) Samba 4.7.6 AD DC (2 of them), compiled from source, on centos 7 2) Freeradius 3.0.13 + samba 4.6.2 as domain member, packages straight from centos repo. // I  tested also on freeradius 3.0.14 and samba 4.7.x smb.conf on the DC is pretty basic, most important is obviously in [globall]:         ntlm auth =

testing wireless security
I have been playing around with 3 ath based FreeBSD boxes and seem to have got everything going via WPA and a common PSK for 802.11x auth. However, I want to have a bit more certainty about things working properly. What tools do people recommend for sniffing and checking a wireless network ? In terms of IDS, is there any way to see if people are trying to bruteforce the network ? I see

Fwd: ntlm_auth and freeradius
I can share my notes, we authenticate UniFi clients via Freeradius against Samba AD. We also check group membership which you might or might not need: ## 4 FreeRADIUS ### 4.1 Basics ```bash apt install freeradius freeradius-ldap freeradius-utils # create new DH-params openssl dhparam -out /etc/freeradius/3.0/certs/dh 2048 ``` ### 4.2 Configure Authentication - modify mschap to use winbind,
