PHP Binding and dbi2omega questions
Hi All,
I've installed Xapian and the php module. I've set up a script for use with
scriptindex and dbi2omega for getting data from the db into the index
easily, the script file is as follows:
===============================
id : field=id
title : index
title: field=title
description : index
description : truncate=50 field=content

Report for http://trac.xapian.org/wiki/SupportedPlatforms
Hello :-)
There was probably no good reason to do this build but the Debian 6.0
Squeeze repo version was 1.2.3, we needed 1.2.4 and I didn't think of using
the package from unstable.

Platform: Linux 2.6 Debian 6.0 (Squeeze)
Compiler: gcc version 4.4.5 (Debian 4.4.5-8)

Omega datevalue search fails during scriptindex flush
Hi,
I'm experiencing weird behaviour in Xapian/Omega.
Here's my situation:
* I'm indexing data through scriptindex, the output is as follows:
*****************
Replace: 6706476
Replace: 6706477
Replace: 6706478
*****************
Since there is no output after entering several enters, I assume scriptindex is indexing data.
* The search I perform on omega is as follows:

Guys,
I'm migrating an internal Mediawiki over to a new CentOS 4 system. The
old server's running FC3 and has a tarball install, ideally I want to
stick to properly packaged software as far as possible.

indexing db data
Hello list,
I would like to try indexing data in a database table. While I got
dbi2omega to work and print the data, I am still not sure how it all
works together. What should be done to the output from dbi2omega?
If for example I have a table with 5 fields 2 of which I would like to
index, like so:
(id primary key,
title varchar(100),
name varchar(100),

You were doing this (looking at the mysql.db table) on your
"db.example.com" machine, correct?

locate and omega: how to index file names?
hallo,
I'm indexing a filesystem using omindex, and users can query the
database via omega: everything works fine
now I'd like to add an option like "search files by name" and I'm
wondering how to do this
can omega search files by name directly? how should I build the query?
could I use scriptindex to index, eg., the locate database? how?
should I index file names

wordpess can't connect to DB but mediawiki can
Hi Richard,
I actually made some progress on this. The problem was SSL. Once I I took
the SSL requirement out of the picture for the user everything worked. The
test php script and the wordpress site both. Originally when I setup my
wiki it NEEDED SSL. Because there was some sensitive data in it. My
website, however, is just a goofball toy project of mine. And doesn't
really need that. But

wordpess can't connect to DB but mediawiki can
Hey guys,
I'm running both a wordpress site as well as a mediawiki off of the same
web servers. The mediawiki site works great! The wordpress site, meh. Not
so much. I keep getting the common database connection error:
Error establishing a database connection
And as far as I can tell the settings between the mediawiki site and the
wordpress site are nearly identical.

Collaborative Wiki: Mediawiki
Dear R Developers,
I create this e-mail, linked to "Collaborative Wiki for fostering Open
Innovation in R", for going straight into the point:
After studing multiple wikies (Confluence, xwiki, Mediawiki) for a
collaborative approach to R Documentation, I finally came up that Mediawiki
was the best for managing documentation for being:
- 100% Open Source.
- Simple, tidy, neat

Yeah that's true. But this list tends to be rather helpful for general
problems that are less specific to centos. Sometimes. :) Really seems to
depend...
Incidentally I am using centos on all hosts:

db.example.com is a load balanced VIP. The VIP is being handled by
keepalived and HA/Proxy. There are two DB's setup in master/master
replication. The two databases and two load balancers are on AWS. The web
server and varnish servers are on digital ocean.

I'm trying to relate what I know about Omega/Scriptindex with the actual data
James, thanks for the explanations. I misread the notes.
As an exercise, I'm trying to convert an existing project that currently
uses Scriptindex and Omega to direct Xapian API calls. I did a (I
think) complete dump of a document with
delve -r 565 -d database
and I see things like
subject='A typical subject'
with a corresponding set of terms like
Sa Stypical Ssubject

Well yeah. I used the mysql database before I issued that command.

[Omega] Filtering on time instead of date
Hi,
Currently Omega/scriptindex supports filtering by date. For example, all
dates between START and END. Would it be possible to extend this
behaviour to include the time?
We have documents which expire. In order to filter out 'old' articles,
we would like to check if the document date is between START=NOW and
END=MAXINT.
Best regards,
Eric

omega: $field{sample} clarification
I'm using omega for a sitesearch and currently having a problem trying
to filter $field(sample). At the moment it returns text from the page
header and navigation within the sample, ideally I'd like it to return
only the page content. I've been trying various omegascript commands to
trim the output or seperate the fields and also looking at scriptindex
to control how the xhtml is
