Google are running their Summer of Code again this year. If you're not familiar with it, see: https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/ Interested orgs can apply already up until February 6th (just over a week away as I write). We've taken part many times before, and it's resulted in both new contributors and interesting new features - I think it's well worth applying again. We

If you're not familiar with it, see: https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/ Org applications are already open and close on January 23rd (this phase is earlier than in past years, which I think is a good thing as it gives students more time to talk to orgs). [cfe-dev] [GSOC 2018] Mentors and projects needed! Any help appreciated.
Hi Tanya, Is it too late to get some smaller projects for XRay in there? Here's two: XRay Function Coverage Mode: Implementing an XRay mode to gather function call coverage information. This will be useful in determining which functions in an application has been called either on-demand or throughout its lifetime. XRay Converters: Implementing conversion tools for XRay traces into

[cfe-dev] [GSOC 2018] Mentors and projects needed! Any help appreciated.
Hi Anton, Forgive me for the potentially dumb question -- but how do I do that myself? The monorepo doesn't contain the website source(s) and it's unclear how I can do that myself... I'd love to do it myself but I'm a little lost on how to do it. Help? On Tue, Feb 20, 2018 at 9:18 PM Anton Korobeynikov <anton at korobeynikov.info> wrote: > Dean, > > Please add

[GSOC 2018] Mentors and projects needed! Any help appreciated.
All, The LLVM project has had many years of success with the Google Summer of Code project and we would really like to continue our participation. However, without the support of more community members, we fear that we may not be selected as an organization this year. They are already reviewing projects and to improve our chances of participation we need more projects and mentors listed on the

LLVM GSOC Projects Criteria Consultation (before 2/28)
Agreed. I think it's worth thinking about what GSoC is actually about, which according to the website: "Google Summer of Code is a global program focused on introducing students to open source software development." Strongly favouring students with prior experience in community involvement with LLVM is somewhat missing the point, and I think we should be mindful of the differences

LLVM GSOC Projects Criteria Consultation (before 2/28)
Hello all, GSOC is around the corner, and the LLVM projects plans to participate again this year. For those who don’t know about GSOC, students are proposing a project that they will work on for 3 months. Amongst other, one goal for LLVM is to mentor students to become good developers and also contributors to the LLVM project (or user/advocate of LLVM for building other cool projects). A key

No. Some projects are already completed, some mentors do not have time to mentor these projects, etc. All the relevant to GSoC 2018 projects are listed under GSoC 2018. Still, feel free to submit alternative proposal – there might be some

[GSoC] Mentor qualification guidelines
Hi all, I have a question related to GSoC. One of my students submitted an idea [1] for a GSoC project and I would be interested in (co-)mentoring this project but I'm unsure of the qualification requirements for acting as a mentor. Is there anyone that can clarify the requirements here? I have been working with LLVM for several years now but mostly on projects outside of the main LLVM

[Piglit] X.Org GSoC 2019 - Student Application Period
well generally I would be available for all the nouveau projects, although I am lacking proper knowledge for a few of those like video acceleration. But I am sure I would be able to dig into stuff enough before the projects starts. [Piglit] X.Org GSoC 2019 - Student Application Period
Thanks for reaching out on the matter Ilia. I am not to be relied on. If you're lucky, I might be able to take some questions about past work, but cannot make a solid time commitment that warrants being a mentor. Of course, the mentor does not necessarily have to have the deepest understanding of the subject matter. *At the end of the GSOC* a good student should be trusted with having more
