GSoC 2017
Google are running their Summer of Code again this year. If you're not familiar with it, see: https://developers.google.com/open-source/gsoc/ Last year was very successful and I think we probably want to apply again this year, assuming there are a sufficient number of people interested in mentoring to make it worthwhile. Org application open on 19th (this Thursday) though the deadline is

Idea #1: llvm-env A simple tool, with little or no dependency on LLVM itself, that will investigate a target architecture by probing hardware, software, libraries and compiling and executing code to identify all properties that would be relevant to command-line options, triple settings etc. The first stage is to

bindings /perl / slackware 14.0 / GSoC
Xapian Developers, I suggest a small xapian GSoC project to get xapian-bindings for perl to pass tests on Slackware Linux 14.0, with a follow up on version 14.1. The xapian-bindings 1.2.21 failed a number of perl tests on 14.0, and with 1.2.22 still fail. I cannot be involved in the project. Sincerely, Eric Lindblad
