If the subject of xapian-core apitests on MSYS/MINGW and MSYS2/MINGW is taken up it might be noted that the compiler version could be recorded, probably gcc 5.3.0 or newer, that closed pipes might be an issue, and also allocating for the location of xapian-tcpsrv.
Not from my own tests but another man informed there was some problems with [MSYS2] python bindings.
I am not knowledgeable of the

C6 or C7 for an old netbook
I've got an old HP Netbook, which is just fine for taking with when I'm
travelling, to check email and news. I have a very old Ubuntu
netbook-remix on it, and it really, *really* needs to be updated to
something current. I, of course, would prefer CentOS....
The question is: I see that *if* the specs I just looked up (I'm at work,
not home, where I could just turn it on, but they

I went for C6 on a Samsung NC10 (1.6GHz Atom N270 1GB RAM), only because it
refused to boot off the C7 ISO for some reason, and I didn't want to

use of qemu-kvm --chardev pipe, id=X, path=... argument ?
Please can anyone enlighten me as to why linux qemu-kvm always
creates the console on my terminal, when I am trying to direct
all of its input and output to a pipe ?
I have created :
$ mkfifo /tmp/el6x32{.in,.out,.monitor}
and use the command:
$ /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm -M rhel6.4.0 -cpu n270 -smp 1 \
-hda /home/rpmbuild/OEL6/img/OEL6_32.img \
-kernel

Re: use of qemu-kvm --chardev pipe, id=X, path=... argument ?
Aha! Thank you. Yes that does prevent the default stdio console .
But no output appears on the input pipe, and outputting to input end has
no effect:
In one terminal, I do:
$ cat /tmp/el6x32.out
in the main terminal, I run:
$ /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm -M rhel6.4.0 -cpu n270 -smp 1 -hda
/home/rpmbuild/OEL6/img/OEL6_32.img -kernel
/home/rpmbuild/OEL6/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.39-400.215.14.el6uek.i686 -initrd

'virsh capabilities' on Debian Wheezy-amd64 reports different cpu to Wheezy-i386 (on same hardware)
Hi
On a range of Dell servers containing Intel 64bit processors, 'virsh
capabilities' reports the cpu differently on Debian Wheezy-amd64 and
Wheezy-i386. The results given by the Wheezy-i386 version seem very
wrong (since n270 is an Atom processor). Apart from architecture, the
package versions of libvirt-bin are identical: 1.2.1-1~bpo70+1.
/usr/share/libvirt/cpu_map.xml files are

Problems with Acer netbook freezing on syslinux bootup
Hi!
I'm not a programmer, so I will try and be as clear as I can.
I currently have an Acer Aspire One which has issues with syslinux 4.06
When I try and make a usb bootable install key using common automated
programs under windows (Universal USB installer from Pendrivelinux, LiLi
and unetbootin), they all fail when booted on the netbook.
Now, I know it's an issue with syslinux for many

driver for IVT SCD solar controller ?
hi,
I'm using the SCD-20 solar controller from IVT Gmbh in combination with a
230Ah battery and a photovoltaic panel to power a small server based on an
Intel ATOM N270 CPU.
the controller is (will be) connected to the server via RS232 (1200 8n1)
and works like this:
- if the battery voltage drops below 12V, a warning LED is switched on
- if the battery voltage drops below 10.5V, the load

CPU Model detection with virsh capabilities
Hello everybody,
I am a new user discovering libvirt with KVM software. During my first
VM creation, I saw an issue with virsh that I can't understand.
I wanted to emulate another CPU than the classical qemu32 using virsh.
So I used the virsh capabilites command to detect how is detected my CPU
host which is an Intel Xeon E5410 and my problem is that this CPU is
detected only with the

How to install C&C: Tiberium Dawn in Ubuntu Karmic
Hi,
I am currently using a hp mini, and my wine version is 1.0.0. I am trying to install Command and Conquer: Tiberium Dawn from the official website, and run it on ubuntu karmic using wine. When I tried it last night, I ran into the installation error: "Unable to locate necessary files. Please run setup.exe from the CD-ROM disc". Apparently others have run into this error, as it is
