docid type redifine
Hello all.
I need to redefine a docid type (and all dependent types) like this: typedef unsigned long long docid;
I think it would be enough to edit "include/xapian/types.h", but it isn't so.
1) I've added :
string
om_tostring(unsigned long long val)
{
CONVERT_TO_STRING("%llu")
}
in common/utils.{h,cc}
2) In include/enquire.h (line 438) I've found the

Obtaining actual match count if using set_collapse_key()
Greets,
Is it possible to obtain the actual match count if you're using
set_collapse_key()? ie, the total count *before* the collapsing
occurs (without using get_mset()).
Alternatively, will MSet::get_matches_estimated() return the true -
pre-collapse - count, or will it also be affected by collapsing?
Thanks

anonymous function parsing bug?
Hi,
thx for the reply. Unfortunately that is not a simplified version of the
problem. You have a function, call it and get the result (numeric in,
numeric out in that case). For simplicity lets use the "return" case:
##
foobar<-function(x) { return(sqrt(x)) }(2)
##
which is a function (numeric in, numeric out) which is defined, then
gets called and the return value is a function

anonymous function parsing bug?
Hi,
I hope this is the correct list for my question. I found a wired
behaviour of my R installation on the evaluation of anonymous functions.
minimal working example
###
f<-function(x) {
print( 2*x )
}(2)
class(f)
f(3)
f<-function(x) {
print( 2*x )
}(4)(5)
f(6)

leads to

yes. Or more precisely: I would expect that. "Should" implies, that I
want to change something. I just want to understand the behavior (or
file a bug, if this would have been one).

Very far out and static get_matches_estimated
Hi,
I'm getting quite odd results using get_matches_estimated() that I
haven't seen before; we've just added a bunch of new data to the
database. Xapian 1.0.7, checkatleast is set to 100.
The database will get new stuff added to it automatically around 8.30am
BST, so it's possible this might affect the links I provide, I guess.
But I'll note what is currently happening as

Superimpose Histograms
Hi all,
I have data which is represented as a histogram and want to add more
data / another histogram to this plot using another color. That is I
need to superimpose multiple histograms.
But have no idea how to do this.
Can anybody please give me a hint?
Thanks,
Andreas

handling a matrix and .C
Hello R-devel,
I want to write extensions for R in C (maybe C++ and Fortran later) and it works fine, but there is one problem, which I cannot solve (in my view).
I want to handle a matrix from R in C. For arrays there is "as.double(...)", but nothing for a matrix.
I searched a while, but didn't find something.
Last I looked at the source code of e1071 and of the core itself and

Matches estimate varies with sorting method
Hi all,
I found that the figure returned by MSet::get_matches_estimated() varies
depending on how results are to be sorted.
For instance, in my index, value 4 contains date and time in the format
"yyyymmddhhmmss". For the same query, the number of results will be
estimated to 20000+ when results are first sorted by date and time
with set_sort_by_value_then_relevance(4) and to only 100

Xapian::DocNotFoundError on replace_document? (Called from Search::Xapian)
Hello,
I'm using Xapian 1.0.2 (flint) and matching Search::Xapian.
I'm getting:
terminate called after throwing an instance of
'Xapian::DocNotFoundError', which dumps core.
at first it was after adding my 2nd document (to an empty db, although
I don't know if that has any bearing) to the database with a
replace_document() call.
I shifted the first document off the

Incorrect get_matches_estimated() of Xapian::Mset
Hello, As I know, get_matches_estimated() return an estimate for the number of documents with matches the query.
But now, I found it get a disparity between the return value and real mathced number. For an example: the real matched number is 58, but the return value is 458; so when the users click the hinder page, get a blank page ... so they often complain to me.
I found that the main reason is

stub-file and get_doccount
Hello,
i switched from one big index to a stub file with many indexes and running
into a problem.
i have a tool to fetch a random document via:
get_doccount
random id up to get_doccount
get_document with that id
after changing to stub file this failes. Is there a nice way to get a
random document from a stub file?

anonymous function parsing bug?
Are you saying that
f1 <- function(x) log(x)
f2 <- function(x) { log } (x)
should act differently?
Using 'return' complicates the matter, because it affects evaluation, not
parsing.

yes.
But that would mean that {log} would act differently than log.
I suppose it is a matter of taste, but I say yuck.
As for 'return', don't use it if you want readable code. It is
like a goto but worse. It

Sorry to follow up on an old thread, but I am wondering if there has
been any work done on, or interest in, increasing the maximum document
