Slow Samba Printer initialisation, status, and printing
OK, I have been wrestling with this for two weeks now, so somebody please
help !
We have an existing Samba Print Server, running RedHat linux, kernel
2.2.19, that runs fine, but is a P133 with 64 mb ram. So we built a new PC,
the slowest thing we could buy, a duron 1 ghz with 512 mb RAM. Old printer
server is running Samba 2.2.5, new printer server is running samba 2.2.5,
and Slackware 8.1,

negative binomial regression
I would like to know if it is possible to perform negative binomial
regression with rate data (incidence density) using the glm.nb (in
MASS) function.
I used the poisson regression glm call to assess the count of injuries
across census tracts. The glm request was adjusted to handle the data
as rates using the offset parameter since the population of census
tracts can vary by a factor of

SELinux Relabeling
Hello everyone,
If create a folder called "whatever" under /var, the context is:
root:object_r:var_t /var/whatever/
That's expected as it is under /var. If I then change its type:
chcont -t httpd_sys_content_t /var/whatever
The context looks like:
root:object_r:httpd_sys_content_t /var/whatever/
My question is...Shouldn't a relabeling of the filesystem change the type

Printing NT to Linux w\Cannon bjc-4000
I am able to see my printer as a share. Well better put, I see four
representations of my printer: ascii, lp2, lp-mono, and raw. I tried
the naive thing and just selected lp2 and added the cannon bjc 4000
driver for NT. This didn't work. I get an error report:
%%[ Error: undefined; offending Command: K ]%% . . . a bunch of strings
that I don't understand. This does not look like the

Relabel /usr directory
Hi,
I've done the following:
- Copy usr content with rsync to another partition:
rsync -av --partial --progress /usr/ /mnt
Then, unmounted, added to fstab a line for /usr, then deleted /usr/* (not
the directory itself). But I've found that is bad labeled:
ls -Z /usr
unconfined_u:object_r:unlabeled_t:s0 bin
unconfined_u:object_r:unlabeled_t:s0 local
unconfined_u:object_r:unlabeled_t:s0

Service Resources and Selinux
Hi list,
I''ve got an issue at the moment, which isn''t really a big problem, but
an untidy annoyance really, and I''d just like to understand what the
best practice might be when dealing with the issue.
As a really quick summary, the issue is that Puppet is starting up the
mysqld service for the first time as unconfined_u, and then when MySQL
goes and creates a load

Multiple Printers on LPT
Hi
I have a RH7.2 server with 3 x LPT ports
I have installed the following printers using the GUI printconfig
Lp0 = HP1200
Lp1 = OKI320
Lp2 = OKI321
I have shared them via samba
I can browse them using WinXP & Win2K by browsing the Linux box, looking at
the printers and double clicking to open them, all is OK you would say, No.
I have checked permissions on the /var/lpd directories and

smbd write failure, kernel
Hello!
I have samba 3.0.23c-2 installed on Fedora Core 7. Smbd and nmbd daemons
start automotically with computer via commands in rc.local:
smbd -D
nmbd -D
But there is one problem. When smbd starts via rc.local, it can't write
files to the disk.
And when I start it myself, everything is fine.
smbd.log:
[2007/05/21 09:49:06, 0] lib/util_sock.c:write_data(562) write_data:

Dynamically setting permanent memory libvirt-lxc
I'm trying to permanently change memory allocation for a libvirt-lxc domain. So far I tried changing memory in memory.limit_in_bytes under /cgroup/memory/libvirt/lxc/<container>/. This didn't help. It appears that libvirt is not reading changes in cgroup.
My requirements are
1) Be able to dynamically change memory of a LXC domain without reboot
2) The memory change must survive

adding printer driver to a printer
Hi,
I'm using debian woody with samba (2.2.3a-12.3). After installing
2.2.8a everything that worked, still works. What didn't work, still
doesn't work.
Sharing files works properly.
I'd like to share a printer via the samba server. When I go to the
printers&faxes share in explorer, no printers are shown.
Hereunder is my smb.conf, /etc/lprng/printcap, and the logfile

CentOS-6 SSHD chroot SELinux problem
I run a sshd host solely to allow employees to tunnel secure
connections to our internal hosts. Some of which do not support
encrypted protocols. These connections are chroot'ed via the
following in /etc/ssh/sshd_config
Match Group !wheel,!xxxxxx,yyyyy
AllowTcpForwarding yes
ChrootDirectory /home/yyyyy
X11Forwarding yes
Where external users belong to group yyyyy (primary).
