getting CPU usage through virsh command or libvirt API
Hi,
Is it possible to get the CPU usage of a guest through a virsh command? I have tried almost all the commands (vcpuinfo, cpu-stats, etc.) that gets the details of a guest cpu, but it only returns the cpu time. Is there any command that returns the cpu usage (just like the graph that virt-manager displays) of a guest? Or do I have to create a program using libvirt API? Thanks in

getting CPU usage of KVM
Greetings sir,
I am currently taking up Computer Science in my school. I just
want to ask how do you get the CPU usage and Memory usage of the VMs
(I'm referring sir to the graphs that the Virtual Machine Manager is
displaying)? I need to get the numbers (the numbers are enough, I don't
need the graph) of these informations because I will be needing it for

getting CPU usage of VMs through libvirt
Greetings everyone,
I just want to ask if it is possible to get the CPU usage of the VMs in KVM through libvirt? I mean, how does the virt-manager produce the graph it displays? Is there a way get this graph? But instead of the graph itself, I just need to get it in percentage(%) form. I'd like to know how. Thank you and your help will be greatly appreciated.

Libvirt Java API to get CPU usage of VM (KVM)
Hi all libvirt-users,
Is there a counterpart on Java of the function virDomainGetCPUStats that is based on C API? Because I am trying to create a program based on
java to get the CPU usage of a Guest/Domain/VM in KVM using the Libvirt
Java API.
Honestly, I am having a hard time in starting my program. I have no
idea where to start. I mean, what functions do I need to get the CPU
usage of

High CPU usage
The below seems to give me several minutes of 15-60% cpu usage. As far as
I can tell there doesn''t seem to be anything really wrong with my
configuration.
Anyone have any idea why this might be the case? I also get about 6%
memory usage.
This is a 3.0 ghz Xeon with 2 gigs of memory.

HVM guest high CPU usage
I have couple of HVM guests on xen 3.2. When guests boot, qemu-dm uses alot
of cpu for approx 20 minutes post boot then load drops to average 0.50. I
did some debugging and see this is going on, I suspect display output is
using the CPU. Disabling VNC and SDL didn''t help with the CPU usage. any
ideas how to reduce the cpu or stop it all together?
My setup is as following:

rFactor Dedicated Server CPU usage
Hello,
I recently upgraded to wine 1.3.25 on debian sid to run a dedicated server for rFactor game on a little Athlon 64 x2 4400+ linux box.
The server works just fine but is a CPU hog !
Under "top" it uses about 26% CPU for "rFactor Dedicated.exe" and another 28% for "wineserver" binary without any player connected.
I also insist on the fact that I previously ran

find thread that is causing high cpu usage
Hello,
Using one of Brendan''s dtrace script prusage and prstat, I was able to find the process that is consuming high cpu. I also have a test case that can trigger this high cpu usage.
Questions are
a) how do I proceed from here?
b) how do I figure out which thread is using this high cpu?
c) how do I figure out which piece of code is causing this problem?
Thanks

StarCraft II, low CPU/GPU usage
Hi all,
I'm trying to properly understand why SC2 doesn't use CPU/GPU at 100%, sleeps all the time.
I've managed to instrument SleepEx function, and I found out that the game spawns a lot of threads which are put to sleep by themselves 95% of the time if not more.
This should definitely be on of the (if not main) reason why SC2 doesn't use the CPU/GPU at 100% and both are set to
