Re: Ubuntu Trusty: failed to create VM due to permission denied
Thank you Eric. Yes, it looks like AppArmor caused the problem. I will google on how to disable it. Re: Efficient live disk backup with active blockcommit : Failed 'block-commit': Could not reopen file: Permission denied
Thanks Kashyap for replying. QEMU has permissions to the directory which is having images. I will look into the AppArmor issue and find out more about this. Also as per suggestion from the link i have uncommented the user and group from the qemu.conf file - https://github.com/jedi4ever/veewee/issues/996 By checking more on the AppArmor and sVirt issue , i have modified the qemu.conf for

Re: Efficient live disk backup with active blockcommit : Failed 'block-commit': Could not reopen file: Permission denied
This is not a libvirt/redhat question… With your method you can only revert to versions which are available in the standard repositories. You’ll have to download the packages manually to force a different version. Use with caution. There is a reason why the version isn’t in the standard repositories. grep ip address from KVM DHCP log
> Hi, I plan to use KVM internal network 'default' and grep dhcp log to figure out the IP address that assigned to my VM. I know I can configure static ip but I like to assign ip dynamically to avoid mgmt cost. Does anyone know where the dhcp log is? My KVM host is running Ubuntu Raring (13.04). It does not have file /var/log/daemon.log as some online doc mentioned. Thanks,

Does libvirt have API to detect image format

Re: how to disable vnet_hdr through libvirt
Thank you Daniel. How difficult to extend libvirt for this? One critical application on my VM needs to turn vnet_hdr off. I can switch to use qemu directly. However, in that way I will lose all the nice things provided by libvirt. Thanks, ~Jianfeng On 3/3/14 3:53 AM, "Daniel P. Unfortunately my backing store file is not in a volume. So I guess I cannot use that method. Permission denied in reply to ping_message
Hi all, I use this command on my servers to test locally that Samba is alive and well: smbcontrol smbd ping However, it suddenly stop working on one of the several identical servers, and I cannot figure out why. ping command says "no replies received", while log.smbd says that it received a ping message, but cannot reply because permission is denied. Which permission? $ sudo

Re: Efficient live disk backup with active blockcommit : Failed 'block-commit': Could not reopen file: Permission denied
Hi Was trying to get specific qemu-kvm version. Do you know any way to get the 2.1.2 installed. Was trying sudo apt-get install qemu-kvm=1.2.1 but its not working. Tried with sudo apt-get install qemu-kvm tree=1.2.1 But both have failed for Version not found. libvirt 1.19: could not open drive file (permission denied)
Hi, With libvrit 1.18 all is working fine: I can open my win7 VM on Archlinux without problem. But I cannot use it with libvirt 1.19: it could not open drive file (permission denied). In /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf, I have: - user: root - group: root And the drive file has root:root as owner. Why this configuration is running with libvirt 1.18 and not with libvirt 1.19 ? Many thanks for
