libvirt_lxc and sysfs
Hello. Is it possible to start container via libvirt_lxc without mounting /sys inside container? When I start container via lxc-start and do not add mount point to config, then /sys inside container is empty. When I do it via virsh -c lxc:// container.xml, then /sys contains sysfs of the host and /sys on host becomes remounting read-only. Am I doing something wrong or is this feature of

Cannot recv data: Connection reset by peer
Hello, I'm trying to install and use libvirt 1.0.4 on an Ubuntu 12.04.2. I compiled libvirt by doing: $ ./configure --with-selinux=no --with-gnutls $ make $ sudo make install Everything works fine and are installed under /usr/local Then I started the libvirtd manually and try to start a linux container that has the following configuration: $ virsh -c lxc:/// dumpxml lxcvm1 <domain

libvirt-1.2.2-r1 (Gentoo) fails to start LXC containers
I recently upgraded "libvirt" on Gentoo to 1.2.2-r1 (latest available). I have not used LXC containers for a few weeks, so I don't recall what version of libvirt I was using when my container last booted successfully. Unfortunately, Gentoo's portage tree does not offer any previous versions of libvirt that I could downgrade to. TL;DR: My container is configured to use

Is anyone using libvirt for lxc ? I am trying to do so and running into an issue. The system container starts fine with lxc tools and am able to connect to it. Here is the snippet of my xml file (rest is same as in http://libvirt.org/drvlxc.html) <devices> <emulator>/usr/libexec/libvirt_lxc</emulator> <filesystem type='mount'> <source

Finding lshw and flash-plugin or alternates
Dear CentOS Gurus I have been using "repoforge.org" primarily to obtain two RPMs, "lshw" and "flash-plugin". I recently realized that "repoforge.org" should not be used, as it has had no updates for a long long time. But, when I search for the RPMs within the repos: base centosplus contrib epel extras updates the lshw program is nowhere to

Unable to start LXC on Gentoo w/ libvirt 1.0.4 or 1.0.5. 1.0.3 works
Hello. I use libvirtd on my Gentoo development system to manage both QEMU and LXC. When 1.0.3 came out, I updated to it from 1.0.3-r2, but 1.0.4 failed to start my LXC containers. I did not research the issue at the time, so I revert to 1.0.3-r2. Today I updated to 1.0.5 and my LXC containers still fail to start. I have not changed my domain XML at all. I am looking for suggestions on

lshw in centos 7
Folks I've been running lshw for years in both Centos 6 and Centos 7, yet just recently it started hanging. Neither a Control^C nor a "kill" of the process cured the hang; only a reboot. When I run it by hand from the command line, it displays stuff on the next line overwriting it with things like PCI, USB. And USB is the last thing I see. A Control-C does not unlock it. I

libvirt_lxc: "reboot -f" causes libvirt_lxc process to stop, but domain is still "running" for libvirt
Hi, I have a libvirt_lxc system container (with systemd). After running "reboot -f" inside the container, I get "Rebooting.\n". htop shows that the libvirt_lxc and all subprocesses are stopped, but from libvirt api/virsh/virt-manager, the domain is still "running". So it looks like libvirtd doesn't detect that libvirt_lxc process was stopped... Florian
