"connection refused", but server is listening
netstat -lptu
gives me
tcp6 0 0 [::]:16514 [::]:* LISTEN

so the server is correctly listening on interfaces.
My /etc/libvirt/libvirtd settings are defaulted.
My /etc/default/libvirt-bin has "-d -l" options so server is listening.
If I do virsh -c qemu://143.225.229.190/system (that is my ip or an ip

Problem in getting memory statistics
Hello,
I need to get how much memory is used by a guest system, in order to
implement some monitoring function which tells me if the system is
overstressed.
I am currently using java apis and the binding which was suggested to me was
Domain.memoryStats();
This is a binding to int virDomainMemoryStats

Question about the remote Authentication in the libvirt Java bindings
Dustin:
I am adding this response to the libvirt list as well so that others may
see it.
The authorization is done via a callback. The ConnectAuthDefault() that
you are using is one such implementation. You could create your own
subclass of ConnectAuth, and override the method:
public abstract int callback(Credential[] cred);
And then provide the username/password in that fashion. Look at

Re: Programmatically force shutdown a guest: possible?
Yes, you are right.
Listen, as the documentation is not very exaustive, can you explain briefly
to me how a guest agent works?
After installing it via the apt-get on the hypervisor (I am using ubuntu as
host system) how can I create a script which would do this?
That is waiting for an acpi signal and actually shut down the guest.
And what other operation can you actually do with a guest agent? I

Problems with tls connection when ran with user privileges
I set up my certificates, ca client and server, as described in your
documentation: http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/TLSCreateServerCerts.
I followed it step by step so it must be ok.
However, when I run
virsh -c qemu://192.168.1.2/system and I try a command like
list --all
I get:
error: impossible connect to the hypervisor
errore: no valid connection

FCR1: Syslinux boot disk after Kernel Update
Hi,
I'm running fedora core rel. 1 on a dual system, using syslinux on a
floppy disk as boot manager to start fedora. However, after up2date, I
can't start fedora with the new kernel, as syslinux probably points to
the old one. Kernel installation was done automatically via rpm (up2date
online), but it didn't change syslinux parameters.
What do I need to change in syslinux config

Re: [libvirt] JVM crashes during GC
Note: A couple of times I have seen errors while closing the connection
(the trace ending with virFree). Also, a few times I have seen backtraces
which show the flow going via esx driver and finally failing to close
connection. Unfortunately I dont have those logs anymore.
The execution results I have shared have been obtained using Libvirt built
from source using the following config parameters:

How can I open a libvirt remote connection with ssh
Hi,
When I use 'virConnectOpenAuth' function to connect to '192.168.1.102' libvirtd with ssh,
Code below, the screen print the dialog "root at 192.168.1.102's password:" , and only
After I type the password, the connection can be created.
How can I connect to libvirtd with ssh automatically? No need to type the password manually.

Re: operation forbidden Read Only Access
Hi,
I found an answer :
Use virConnectOpenAuth() instead of virConnectOpenReadOnly().
As my piece of code is running silently (without user connected) , by using virConnectOpenAuth() ,
is it possible to avoid to prompt user to get user /password ?
Thx.

libvirt ruby binding with vmware
Hi,
I've been trying to use the ruby libvirt binding with vmware esx on F15,
however it doesnt seems to work, I get:
Libvirt::ConnectionError: Call to virConnectOpen failed: Cannot access CA
certificate '/etc/pki/CA/cacert.pem': No such file or directory
I've using the same uri with virsh and it works.
it seems like somehow the no_verify is not passed, or we are back to old

Programmatically force shutdown a guest: possible?
I am looking at the shutdown method, but if the guest system is a desktop
system, like for example ubuntu, it just has the effect to show a box
prompting the user for a shutdown/reboot/ and such.
I could enter the guest and change this default behaviour and it actually
works..but I'd like for a way to send a shutdown command without doing so.
Is it possible?

Trouble connecting to XenServer HyperVisor with Java bindings
Hello,
I am trying to use the libvirt Java bindings (version 0.4.7) with libvirt
version 0.9.12 to connect to a XenServer hypervisor. Virsh is able to
connect to my XenServer, but when I try to do the same thing in Java, it
won't connect.
Here is the debug output:

[Problem] C# virDomainShutdown
Hey there,
im using libvirt since 2 weeks now and there are still some issues im confronted with. I use libvirt in C# and I'm running a 32-bit machine on Windows 7. Actually my worst problem is, is that I'm not able to Shutdown on machine no matter which command I'm using. virDomainShutdown isn't working nor virDomainDestroy. Basically I use the virConnectOpenAuth example to make a
