no connectivity to some hosts behind tinc for the first few seconds
I have the following tinc setup: client -- tinc DC1 -- tinc DC2 -- 10.1.2.0/24 subnet It generally works well, however, there is one issue I'm not able to solve: *sometimes*, connectivity to *some* destinations does not work for the first few seconds. To demonstrate: $ mongo mongo.example.com:27017 MongoDB shell version: 3.2.12 connecting to: mongo.example.com:27017/test

XCP Debian 7 - Routed mode
Hi everyone, I just got a brand new server by Hetzner.de. The thing is, when you have additional IP, to use routed mode (precisely a subnet of IP, story of exposed MAC in their data center etc.) Bridged mode is NOT possible for getting connectivity in VM''s. Traditionally, I''m more confident with "standard" Xen setup, so it''s easy to switch from bridged to

WebDav Support.
Hi guys, I read that mongrel supports the webdav protocol. I need to "create" the webdav files and allow a third party app access it just for read purposes. xen domU ID and static routing
Hi, I use a EQ 4 dedicated root server by hetzner with ubuntu jaunty. I installed xen 3.3 with debian kernel and brought up 3 domUs. Now comes networking... Hetzner does not allow bridged networking so I have to use routed mode in xen. No Problem so far, but the Problem actually is: When I bring up a domU the routing table is created by the xen-script vif-routing. The network interface name

multi threaded theoretically useful?
So here''s a random question: if a (Ruby) multi-threaded rails server could exist (bug free), would it be faster than using a mongrel cluster? (I.e. 10 mongrel processes versus 10 Ruby threads). I''m not sure if it would. RAM it might save, though. Any thoughts? -Roger -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

computer stalls instead of reboot
Hi, I''m still seeing a very strange issue here. First, let''s clarify that the issue has never occurred with the good old xen 3.x and the good old 2.6.18 kernel. So the issue is, that with xen 4.x (including 4.1.1) pretty much any kernel (including kernel from [1] and vanilla 3.0.0, didn''t test the 2.6.18), the machine freezes during a reboot. The machine won''t

mongrel, monit, and the many, many messages
Monit 4.9, Mongrel 1.0.1, Rails 1.2.6, Mac OS X 10.4.11 (PPC) I don''t know whether this is a mongrel issue or a monit issue. I''m trying to poke my way around a system set up by someone else. I have no more experience w/ mongrel that local Rails dev at this point, and a conceptual understanding of how monit is working. I have the Deploying Rails beta book, and I''m

byte-range requests
Hello everyone, I did some initial tests and it seems that mongrel does not support byte-range requests. Is this correct? The reason I ask is that the iPhone requires byte-range requests to work in order to stream audio or video from a web server. Thanks in advance, alan

Xen private network across multiple physical servers
Hi, I would like to configure a Xen private network where the guests use private addresses. So far I have setup the Dom0 instances and the vm''s can access to the other guests inside the same server. Now my question is how can the guests reach the other guests that are located in other physical servers. Here is a diagram of how the network looks:

memory issues
Hi all, I've read the R for windows FAQ and am a little confused re: memory.limit and memory.size to start using R 2.6.2 on WinXP, 2GB RAM, I have the command line "sdi --max-mem-size=2047M" Once the Rgui is open, memory.limit() returns 2047, memory.size() returns 11.315, and memory.size(max=T) returns 19.615 Shouldn't memory.size(max=T) return 2047? Why not ignore stale PID files?
Hi, I have an application which is dying horrible deaths (i.e. segmentation faults) in mid-flight, in production... And of course, I should fix it. But while I find and fix the bugs, I found something I think should be different - I can work on submitting a patch, as it is quite simple, but I might be losing something on my rationale. When Mongrel segfaults, it does not -obviously- get to clean

10.0-BETA3 em/nfe drivers on MSI K9NBPM2-FID board. LAN card changes.
Hi, I have a server at Hetzner and something strange happend. First, I installed FreeBSD 10.0-BETA3 (amd64) via their FreeBSD 9.2-RELEASE rescue system, that's ok. I had to configure the network by using the em driver -> em0 interface. But suddenly, the network was lost. After an ACPI reboot, nothing. Going to the vKVM show me the system didn't detected em0 anymore but an nVidia
