run libvirt API on arm hardware platform
Hi all,
Is it possible to run libvirt API on arm hardware platform?
(i,e. armv7)
Or any work done to work around it?
Thanks
Gavin

Warning : Failed to set up UEFI / The Libvirt version does not support UEFI / Install options are limited...
Hello to everyone.
I'm trying to use qemu 5.1 with virt-manager and libvirt on my ARM
chromebook (armhf 32 bit cpu) running with Devuan 4 as host o.s. By default
it uses qemu and its dependencies, version 5.2. I remember that I can't use
qemu 5.2,because it doesn't have any support for KVM as you can read here :

[PATCH Fedora libguestfs v4] Don't depend on libvirt-daemon-kvm monolith.
libguestfs usually needs qemu. However it only requires an emulator
for the same architecture, not for all architectures.
libvirt-daemon-kvm pulls in qemu which pulls in emulators for all
architectures, as well as a bunch of other stuff we don't need at all
like network interface support and nwfilter.
There are no Fedora TCG-only arches, so drop the conditional section.

Does libvirt support intra-host KVM migration?
Hello all, I'm reposting this to the libvirt-users list:
I looked around for documentation on intra-host KVM migration but haven't
found much. For example, this could be useful to "migrate" VM to run on
an upgraded version of `qemu-kvm` without migrating to a different host
and migrating back.
We tested migrating a VM to the same host on an old version of libvirt
(el7), and

Re: kvm/libvirt on CentOS7 w/Windows 10 Pro guest
Why do you reckon this is to do with your virtualisation system (presumably
qemu/kvm, though you don't say) rather than Windows 10?

FYI: SpecVirt results using libvirt + KVM
Some folks may be aware of the SpecVirt benchmark, where KVM is giving
the competition something to worry about :-)

the previously submitted results though, in that they have been invoking
the KVM command line directly. This has made it harder for people who are

You might need to elaborate how exactly you're doing this.

performance with libvirt and kvm
Hi,
I am seeing a performance degradation while using libvirt to start my
vm (kvm). vm is fedora 12 and host is also fedora 12, both with
2.6.32.10-90.fc12.i686. Here are the statistics from iperf :
>From VM: [ 3] 0.0-30.0 sec 199 MBytes 55.7 Mbits/sec
>From host : [ 3] 0.0-30.0 sec 331 MBytes 92.6 Mbits/sec
libvirt command as seen from ps output :
/usr/bin/qemu-kvm -S -M

Is it possible to live migrate guest OS'es between different versions of kvm/qemu-kvm with libvirt?
Hi,
I currently have a couple of Debian KVM servers with all a different
version of kvm or qemu-kvm.
I can live migrate a guest OS from one server to the other just fine, as
long as the version of qemu-kvm is the same.
However, when I try to migrate a guest to a server running a newer (or
older) version of qemu-kvm, I run into problems. I think this is because
the xml configuration differs

Specifying the KVM binary to use with libvirt
Greetings everybody,
I am running stock ubuntu-natty with kernel 2.6.38-8, KVM 0.14.0 and
libvirt 0.8.8. I am spawning virtual machines with libvirt.
I would like to test a new KVM version built aside without installing
it over existing KVM. Is there a way to tell libvirt which KVM binary
to pick up?
I've been searching and saw that QEMU driver looks in /usr/bin for KVM
executable. Is there a

Hi all,
First at all, excuse if this is not the right place for sending this email.
I'm using ubuntu 14.04 server edition and i'm trying to deploy some virtual
machines in a server in such a way that they are visible in the same
network that the host machine.
The tools I'm using are the uvtool package and libvirt.
The error I'm getting is the following:

kvm/libvirt can't use vmdk files? qemu: 'vmdk' invalid format
Hi all,
I have a RHEL6.1 qemu-kvm hypervisor running a raw image that I need
for various reasons to convert to vmdk.
I used this process:
qemu-img convert server3.img -O vmdk server3.vmdk
Then I edited the XML file (/etc/libvirt/qemu/server3.xml) like so:
<devices>
<emulator>/usr/libexec/qemu-kvm</emulator>
<disk type='file' device='disk'>

kvm libvirt migration problem
Hi everyone:
I am new here
I am using kvm and libvirt on my Dell server. Now i am trying to migrate one
virtual machine from a physical server to another. However, I failed
everytime.
In virsh on physicalServer1, I typed:
virsh # migrate virtualmachine1 qemu+ssh://username at physicalServer2/system
error: operation failed: migration to 'tcp: physicalServer2:49163' failed:
