[PATCH 15/24] compat_ioctl: scsi: move ioctl handling into drivers
Each driver calling scsi_ioctl() gets an equivalent compat_ioctl() handler that implements the same commands by calling scsi_compat_ioctl(). The scsi_cmd_ioctl() and scsi_cmd_blk_ioctl() functions are compatible at this point, so any driver that calls those can do so for both native and compat mode, with the argument passed through compat_ptr(). With this, we can remove the entries from

onboot=yes not working for eth0.x:y interfaces?
Hi, I ran into a Problem when using alias interfaces with vlans on a centos 5 box. When I define such an interface and do a "service network restart" the alias interface doesn't get started. Starting it manually works fine. Also after changing DEVICE=eth0.10:0 to DEVICE=eth0:0 in the config file the interface is started after a network restart. Does anyone have an idea what the

transparent_huge_pages problem (again?)
Hi, I've experiencing problems with 6.5 guests on a 6.4 host when running hadoop with transparen_huge_pages enabled. As soon as I disable that feature everything returns to normal. I'm posting here because this issue cam up in the past: http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=5716 That bug was closed with "resolved in EL6.4" but now it seems to have returned. Apparently there

qemu-kvm-rhev
I recently ran into some problems using certain oVirt (3.3) features on CentOS 6.4 hosts. The solution was to use the qemu-kvm-rhev version from the EL6 RHEV repository: http://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/6Server/en/RHEV/SRPMS/qemu-kvm-rhev-0.12.1.2-2.355.el6_4.9.src.rpm It seems that this tree is not carried/built by CentOS. Are there any plans on the CentOS for carrying these

sleepy disk drives
Hi, I'm having a grief with Seagate FreeAgent Pro drive connected to CentOS 4 box via USB. The problem is that drive is factory configured to take a nap (spin down) after some 15-20 minutes of inactivity, and there doesn't seem to be a way to disable it. Since it's USB connected, hdparm can't be used on it. Getting the drive out of the case is not an option either, since it

XFS : Taking the plunge
Hi All, I have been trying out XFS given it is going to be the file system of choice from upstream in el7. Starting with an Adaptec ASR71605 populated with sixteen 4TB WD enterprise hard drives. The version of OS is 6.4 x86_64 and has 64G of RAM. This next part was not well researched as I had a colleague bothering me late on Xmas Eve that he needed 14 TB immediately to move data to from an

multipath failover
I got a chance to play a bit with new device-mapper-multipath. Unless I missed something obvios, docs seems to still be in the making. Could somebody point me to some docs for /etc/multipath.conf file? Couple of questions (I have very limited time I'll have access to hardware, sorry if I'm asking some obvious stuff). I managed to get things working by typing "multipath" from
