Re: error: internal error: missing backend for pool type 11 (zfs)
I have set root in both for user and group in the qemu.conf and changed the
file permissions to root like it was before. Now I'm getting this error:

Error Starting domain: Failed to page size of file
I am trying to connect a KVM-QEMU VM to OVS-DPDK vhostuser port. But, I am
encountering a few errors. Since I am very new to libvrt and Linux I am not
able to sort them out. Any guidance in this regard would be a great help.
These are my System Logs:

USB passthrough of all USB-slots to guest
Hi,
how can I define passthrough of all USB-slots to a guest with libvirt?
With qemu it's very easy:
# kvm -usb -usbdevice host:0.* -usbdevice host:1.* -usbdevice host:2.* -usbdevice host:3.* ...
This configuration of the VM gets *all* 4 USB-Slots. Every time somewhat USB-device
is plugged in the VM gets it.
virt-install manpage offers:
--host-device 001.003

NFS + sanlock problems
Hello list,
In short: I am experiencing a problem where trying to start a VM which
is allready running on a different libvirt host. Starting it fails,
thanks to sanlock, but the disk dies on the original hypervisor and the
vms filesystem is rendered read-only.

Sluggish performance with virtio and Win10
Hello,
I'm using virt-manager on my F23 box to run a Windows 10 image but the
performance is so bad it's killing me.
I have "vmx" flag in /proc/cpuinfo
# lsmod |grep kvm
kvm_intel 167936 6
kvm 503808 1 kvm_intel
virtio-win-0.1.112-1.noarch
But no virtio modules loaded. Should they be loaded nowadays?
The disk format used is vmdk with no

Re: Slow network performance issues
Is the rsync a first copy or are you overwriting a previous copy. How fast is the transfer rate with scp?

Slow network performance issues
Hi,
I have a fedora21 system that's been running fine under normal network
activity, but trying to perform a full backup of the 300GB filesystem is
taking forever because the network speed appears to be very slow.
Using rsync, the transfer speeds reach a max of like 180kB/s. Using
rsync to copy files on the local filesystem is greater than 55MB/s, so I
don't think it's a disk

Does libvirt check MCS labels during hot-add disk image ?
Libvirt doesn't care about security during hot add disk images. It even
accepts addition of disk images of other guest running on the host.
Steps followed to create this scenario :
Started two VMs with following security configurations:
vm1:
<seclabel type='dynamic' model='selinux' relabel='yes'>

Start domain with usable QMP connection?
Is there any way to get virsh / libvirt to create a domain such that I
can later connect to it via QMP (without hacking the code)?
The command line that libvirt creates for my current setup looks like this:
/usr/local/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 -S -M pc-0.12 -enable-kvm -m 512
-smp 1,sockets=1,cores=1,threads=1 -name winxpsp2 -uuid

win-xp guest after reboot: could not open disk image /dev/sr0: mo medium found and extreme sluggisch
Hi,
win-xp won't boot after installation. The CD is needed to boot from. How can I
convince win-xp to boot?
That's what I did:
==================
I installed win-xp guest on debian squeeze:
# virt-install --connect qemu:///system --name winxp-prof --ram 1024 \
--disk path=/dev/vg-levo/winxp-kvm,size=10 \
--network bridge:br0 --vnc --os-variant winxp --cdrom /dev/sr0

Cannot boot CentOS 7 VM after updating Host CentOS 7 Kernel

Nothing obvious. I checked /var/log/messages, /var/log/libvirt/qemu,
/var/log/libvirt/lxc & /var/log/qemu-ga. The /var/log/libvirt/lxc &
/var/log/qemu-ga were empty. The /var/log/libvirt/qemu directory had a
log file of interest Outgoing-CentOS-7-VM.log but nothing in it that
tells me anything obvious.

PCI Passthrough, AMD, fails to initialize
I'm looking for assistance with pci-passthrough on CentOS 6.2.
I've installed libvirt version: 0.9.4, package: 23.el6_2.8 from yum.
I have a windows XP client setup via virt-manager which boots and runs fine
until I attempt to assign a PCI device to it.
The error log reads:

connecting internal line with external line
Hi,
I'm new to asterisk. I want asterisk to connect a external line with
an internal line: the PC dials a number and connects this call to a
internal telephone (telephone switchboard, based on ISDN, 4 analogue
telephones) of my office.
Can somebody here give me keyword how to search (e.g. with google) to
realise it?

Failing to start or create VM, cannot connect to hypervisor host
Greetings -
I shutdown one of my Centos 6.2 VMs for some offline maintenance and am
now unable to get it to restart. I am also unable to create and start a
new VM. The host system is Centos 6.2, fully up to date. I have been
searching Google for two days and have not been successful in getting a VM
to start. I have restarted libvirtd, but did not want to shutdown my
other two running VMs and

virt-p2v - Windows 10 guest hangs at boot after successful P2V
Hi all,
I successfully virt-p2v'ed a Windows 10 laptop to my Centos 7.3 instance
running KVM. However, on boot, the guest hangs. Is there a registry fix
that is needed after the P2V is done? Here is what is in the guest's

Libvirt: dynamic ownership did not work
Hi,
I have a very strange problem with libvirt. I work on some machines
with libvirt (Debian/ Arch Linux) and libvirt set the ownership of
images file automatically to the qemu user / group for example on Arch
Linux to nobody:kvm.
So when I copy an image file with root and use I then with qemu,
libvirt change the owner/ group to nobody:kvm.
But I also compiled libvirt for a machine (gcc 4.9.4
