LVM Thin Volumes & Storage Pools
Hi, Is it possible to create a storage pool based on an LVM thin pool? I read a recent bugzilla but the problem there was that the storage-pool became unusable AFTER creating a thinpool which is a different case. Thanks, Jorge

Mount options for fs type storage pools?
Hi all, Presently writing up "Storage Pool" docs for the Fedora Virtualisation Guide. (using both virsh and virt-manager) Having trouble finding out how to specify mount options for fs type storage pools. For example: # virsh pool-define-as guest_images_fs fs - - /dev/sdc1 - "/guest_images" Pool guest_images_fs defined # virsh pool-build guest_images_fs Pool

How to mount ext3 root partition with noatime and ro options at boot-time
Hi all, I was trying to mount root-partition which is ext3 partition with noatime and ro option. I included "ro" in the kernel command line But for mounting it with "noatime" option when I searched for some solution I came across a patch http://lkml.org/lkml/2007/8/5/38 But after applying this patch and including option "noatime" in

Modify Iptables Rules (virbr0 & virbr1)
Hi, I have some guests running in the "default" network (virbr0) and I've also created a similar (NAT) network (virbr1). Therefore, the FORWARD chain for the CentOS 6.4 host looks like this: http://fpaste.org/29229/75281379/ ...where line 3-7 are related to virbr0 and 8-12 to virbr1. My 2 questions: 1) I've noticed that I can ping from a guest within virbr0 to any guest on

little mount question
Hello, I was wondering while playing with the mount type if there is a way to just add options to mountpoint without touching anything else. For exemple : # prevent kernel bug mount { proc: options => [ ''noexec'',''nosuid''] } or mount { var: options => [ ''noatime'',''usrquota''] } as i want to add and

Mount options and NFS: just checking...
Greetings - I'm now in the last couple of weeks before going live with Dovecot (v1.0.3) on our revamped IMAP service. I'd like to double-check about the best mount options to use; could someone advise, please? I have three separate directory trees for the message store, the control files and the index files. These are arranged as follows: Message Store Mounted over NFS from

client mount fails on boot under debian lenny...
Hi Is there clean way to ensure that a glusterfs mount point specified in /etc/fstab is mounted automatically on boot under debian lenny when referencing a remote node for the volfile? In my test case everytime I reboot, the system tries to mount the filesystem before the backend 10ge interface comes up so it gets a "No route to host" and immediately aborts. I know I can dump a mount

"Too many levels of symbolic links" with glusterfs automounting
I set up a 3.3 gluster volume for another sysadmin and he has added it to his cluster via automount. It seems to work initially but after some time (days) he is now regularly seeing this warning: "Too many levels of symbolic links" $ df: `/share/gl': Too many levels of symbolic links when he tries to traverse the mounted filesystems. I've been using gluster with static mounts

Option to not update Atime on filesystems not mounted noatime
Hi I have a single filesystem i don't mount noatime because mutt would work very good otherwise. Today, in a discussion about mkisofs, i learned that Linux since 2.6.8 supports "O_NOATIME" as an option to open. (see "man 2 open") So how comes that rsync doesn't do that and/or there is no option to switch on that behaviour? Bis denn -- Real Programmers
