Unable to get IP address from DHCP on remote end.
Hi all, I followed the guide "simple-bridging-with-dhcp", which has two parts: http://www.tinc-vpn.org/examples/simple-bridging-with-dhcp-server-side/ http://www.tinc-vpn.org/examples/simple-bridging-with-dhcp-client-side/ I have altered two things to fit my needs, 1) DHCP server(host:pek1) is on client side ethernet, so I have bridged eth0 and tun1 together; 2) Network/Server/Client

host and vm on isolated network, there is ip (via dhcp) but not ping
Greetings, I've setup an vm with openwrt in it, defined a isolated lan between the vm and the host and booted the vm up. I see the vm is up, made sure the vnic is visible in both the host and guest and added it to the br in the guest. I've issued an dhcpd call on the vnic (labeled vnic0) in the host and got an ip, see: dagg@NCC-5001D ~ $ dhcpcd vnet0 DUID

VM nic not taking IP address
I have a DomU as a firewall (using the Dom0 kernel). I hid the three nics from Dom0 and assigned them to the firewall VM. The firewall VM sees the three nics no problem. Eth0 comes up and grabs an IP automatically from my DHCP server, however eth1 and eth2 are configured with static IPs but they do not come up with an IP: Here is my ''ifconfig'': [root@fw01 ~]# ifconfig eth0

QemuAgentCommand API documents
Hi, I was going through the maillist[0] and found virDomainQemuAgentCommand() support function added to python module. I also checked the API documentation and didn't able to find any pointer for this particular function. Is API documentation[1] not updated with these function details yet or I am looking to a wrong place? Another question is I am using libvirt-1.0.5.5-1.fc19.x86_64 and

Getting DHCP Via CLI
Hi All, I'm wanting to tell my centos box to get a dynamic ip via cli. I know I can do "ifconfig eth0 up", or "ifconfig eth0 191.168.100.35 netmask 255.255.255.0", but, how do I tell it to send the dhcp 0.0.0.0 broadcast to the DHCP server? Cheers. Mark Sargent.

Trouble getting a DHCP address when booting.
Hi. I spawned a thread last week about the failure of bridged networking and I have gotten a little further. Turns out that I _do_ have network connectivity from inside the domains, but I cannot get the network to come up when I boot. I have to login and start up the network manually. E.g. after installing Debian Sarge according to the debootstrap method outlined in the users manual, I created a

[Bridge] problems with bridging and dhcp
Hello, I'm trying to use bridging in our servers and found a problem with dhcp. Some clients manage to get an IP from the server, using DHCPDISCOVER/DHCPREQUEST. However others use BOOTREQUEST and these don't seem to get an answer. The server sends a BOOTREPLY but the clients continue to send BOOTREQUEST for ever. There are also some (occasional) messages from the dhcp server like

[Bridge] Bridge with IP address -> unable to connect to bridge
Hi, I tried sending this earlier, but it didn't come through. Apologies if this appers twice on the list. I'm running bridging using the brouter setup described on this page: http://ebtables.sourceforge.net/examples.html "Making a brouter". The setup described there is like this: ifconfig br0 0.0.0.0 ifconfig eth0 172.16.1.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 ifconfig eth1 172.16.2.1

Weighting Schemes
Hi! I am Praveen Kumar, an Applied Mathematics student and I am interested in developing other weighting schemes for Xapian through GSOC. I did not have any formal course in Information Retrieval in our institute. The theory that I presently know is from the Xapian documentations and other references and resources mentioned on the website which I read to design our own Probabilistic Information

Opensolaris domU unable to get dhcp lease
I''m running a ubuntu 9.04 64 bit dom0 with kernel 2.6.29.6 and xen 3.4.0. My eth0 is bridged to br0 and to my guest VMs. The dom0 is running a dhcp server on br0 which is able to provide leases to physical machines on eth0, and also to a windows xp domU which is bridged to br0. However my open solaris 2009.6 domU is unable to obtain a dhcp lease. On the opensolaris side I can see this:

Network setup on Redhat based systems
Hello, I have the following Xen 3.0.2-2 related problem: A host system with Centos 4.4 in the dom0, guest systems are Fedora Core 5 (images from jailtime.org) mounted on LVM. Networking on the domUs is not working, Iptables in the guests are not working either. Each Guest system should have at least 1 dedicated public IP assigned to it, but should have the capability to have more than 1

Fix typo to CentosPackager page in HowTos section
Hi, Current page[0] contain a typo under "Generating your user certificate" section. If you check Usage of centos-cert tool it mention " -n, --new-cert Generate a new Fedora Certificate" instead " -n, --new-cert Generate a new CentOS Certificate". It would be nice if someone fix that typo or provide me edit permission to do so.
