Re: Information needed regarding the libvirt version libvirt-1.0.6-1
Hi Daniel, Thanks a lot for your reply. We have mounted all the cgoup controllers at "/dev/cgroup_<controller>" as mentioned below. ls /dev/ | grep cgroup cgroup_cpu cgroup_cpuacct cgroup_cpuset cgroup_mem On further debugging we dound that the "VCPU" directories are not being created for our domains and hence the comamnd "cpu-stats

Hi Eric, Thanks for your valuable time and comments. >> Are you sure cpuacct was mounted prior to libvirtd starting? Hi Daniel, Thanks for your immidiate reply. The starting of virtual guest was ok on our machine. We are facing this issue while executing the "cpu-stats <domain name>" command. I have collected the debug logs as you suggested and attaching the same. <<libvirt_testing_starting_VG.log >> --> Log collected while starting the virtual guest

libvrtd-1.1.0 crashes when attempting to start some (but not all) LXC containers
Hello all, I have two issues: 1) I am unable to start a seemingly correct LXC domain (I cloned it from a working domain). 2) I am able to crash "libvirtd" by attempting to start the cloned domain, but starting the original works just fine. I humbly submit that item #2 is a bug - the "libvirtd" daemon should never crash due to anything the "libvirt" client

Hi Daniel, Thanks a lot for providing us your pointers. From the domain.xml(attached in my previous mail) which we have used for defining virtual guest i can see below lines <emulator>/usr/local/bin/qemu-system-x86_64</emulator> We were using same domain.xml in eralier libvirt version and the execution of cpu_stats command was successful. Now if we have to get "cpu_stats"

getCPUStats of a domain by a non-root user - libvirtError: Requested operation is not valid: cgroup CPUACCT controller is not mounted
Hello, I'm trying to use libvirt as a non-root user to obtain statistics on the CPU usage by VMs using the Python API. I'm performing basically the following steps: import libvirt conn = libvirt.openReadOnly(None) dom = conn.lookupByUUIDString('268e38ea-1bc7-41e4-c19e-8eff682e58e4') dom.getCPUStats(True, 0) However, they result in the following error: libvir: QEMU Driver

Guest cpuacct counters and others location
Hi, My piece of code ( C langage) uses cgroups to retrieve counters related to cpu and memory usage related to KVM guests hosted by the host where this code runs. I noticed that depending on the O.S. running on the host , these counters are not found at the same location : CentOS 7 : ls /sys/fs/cgroup/cpuacct/machine.slice/machine-qemu\\x2drhel6.0.scope/vcpu0 cgroup.clone_children

[libvirtd] qemu_process: reset CPU affinity to all enabled CPUs, when runs in custom cpuset
Hello All, Since 4.5.0-23.el7 version (Red Hat 7.7), when I launch pinned VM, libvirtd reset CPU affinity to all enabled in host CPUs, if it runs in custom cpuset. I can't reproduce this behavior with 4.5.0-10.el7_6.12 with the same kernel version (Red Hat 7.7). Libvirt runs in a custom cpuset 'libvirt', where the number of available cpus is restricted to 0,2,4,6,8. And this
