Hey John, Hehe, I got the right guy then. Very nice! And very good ideas but I may need more time to reread and try them out later tonight. I'm fully in agreement about providing more details. Can't be accurate in a diagnosis if there isn't much data to go on. This pool option is new to me. Please tell me more on it. Can't find it in the file below but maybe it's

Can you provide some more details with respect to which libvirt version you have installed. I know I've made changes in this space in more recent versions (not the most recent). I'm no root_squash expert, but I was the last to change things in the space so that

Error when creating domain with virsh+qemu
Cheers, I'm working on Ubuntu server 11.10 32 bit with libvirt 0.9.2 and qemu-kvm 0.14.1. I have a user oneadmin:oneadmin who also belongs to kvm and libvirtd groups. I have set qemu.conf and libvirtd.conf with user/group oneadmin. I have disk.0 and deployment.0 files owned by oneadmin. My system does not support hardware virtualization so I don't have /dev/kvm. I'm able to

Libvirtd running as root tries to access oneadmin (OpenNebula) NFS mount but throws: error: can’t canonicalize path
Hey All, I've an issue where libvirtd tries to access an NFS mount but errors out with: can't canonicalize path '/var/lib/one//datastores/0 . The unprevilidged user is able to read/write fine to the share. root_squash is used and for security reasons no_root_squash cannot be used. On the controller and node SELinux is disabled. [oneadmin@mdskvm-p01 ~]$ virsh -d 1 --connect

Convert a locally stored copy of an esxi virtual machine to libvirt using virt-v2v?
Hi, Is there a way to use a locally stored copy of an exsi created virtual machine to convert to libvirt via virt-v2v? I don't want to have to download the image from the esxi server each time I run virt-v2v as that copy takes a long time. Perhaps I'm just missing the command line option. What I would like to do is copy the image manually to the virt-v2v server and work on it locally

Moving Samba AD DC from one VM host to another: Preauthentication failed
I'm trying to move my current Samba AD DC VM from EXSi vSphere to XenServer (XCP-NG). I was able to export the VM to .OVA file & import it into XCP-NG fine. I was able to open ADUC & the DNS manager in Windows without an issue. But my web server had a lot of these errors in the log & couldn't mount the SMB shares from the file server: kerberos_kinit_password <HOSTNAME>
