libguestfs and exporting to OVA/OVF
Hi I've been looking for a standalone tool to create OVA/OVF VM files based on a disk image and found none. So I was thinking to write my own. Would you be interested in having such a tool in the libguestfs umbrella ? My aim is too have a free toolchain to build VirtualBox images for Debian (for Vagrant to be more exact, see https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/Cloud/VagrantBaseBoxes) Interface for

Hi, I have set up an ubuntu edgy guest domain on a fiesty host domain. The installation was successful but on running xm create -c baseimage, I get the following error message: Error: (22, ''Invalid argument'') The problem seems very similar to the one here: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2007-07/msg00361.html but I''m not able to figure out what the

Writing policy for guestfsd in libguestfs live
Dan(s), I hope you can give us some advice on this. Background: guestfsd is a guest agent. Normally it runs inside a special appliance; that's *not* the case that I'm worried about. There's also another mode where you can run guestfsd inside a regular Fedora or RHEL guest, and it handles instructions from the host to perform filesystem operations. The mode is called 'libguestfs

ANNOUNCE: oz 0.8.0 release
All, I'm pleased to announce release 0.8.0 of Oz. Oz is a program for doing automated installation of guest operating systems with limited input from the user. Release 0.8.0 is a (long overdue) bugfix and feature release for Oz. Some of the highlights between Oz 0.7.0 and 0.8.0 are: - Optional virtualenv make target - Conversion of unittests to py.test - Replace

Problem with rsync on WinXP going to HP-UX or Linux
Hi, I can't get rsync from a PC to an HP-UX or Linux box to work, and am hoping for a pointer or two. I checked the FAQ and googled ... with no luck, so I hope this isn't a patently obvious newbie problem :) I just got interested in trying to use rsync to backup my WinXP PC to a Linux or HP-UX computer. I got the cygwin package from Robert Scholten's site at

imap processes eating IO
[Ignore the previous e-mail, I somehow sent it when I was trying to paste from clipboard] I recently migrated my dovecot/postfix setup to a new machine. After doing so, I have encountered a problem where imap processes get stuck in a loop eating loads of IO on the machine. Looking at the trace (snippet below), it looks like they are sitting and reading the inbox and other folders of

Problems authenticating after upgrade to sernet-samba 4.3.9-24
Hello list, Just did a major Samba/CTDB upgrade and our previously working auth setup is having some issues under the new version. Would appreciate some help troubleshooting. It seems like we are close, since the trust relationship between our Samba servers and the AD service looks OK. But winbind fails like this: ------ [root at mako-nsd4 ~]# wbinfo -n jsmith failed to call wbcLookupName:

Winbind traffic not encrypted
A problem here getting winbind traffic to be encrypted using Kerberos. I have set up a test environment with a pair of servers (actually lxc containers): - samba server (ubuntu 16.04, stock samba 4.3.11) - client machine (ubuntu 16.04) joined with "net ads join" and winbind The client machine has the following in /etc/samba/smb.conf: ------- [global] #netbios name = client-ad
