This disk contains one or more operating systems. You can use these mount
commands in virt-rescue (at the ><rescue> prompt) to mount the filesystems.

[REPOST] guestfsd core capture, and virt-rescue clean shutdown
This is a repost of a previously posted set. It's been updated following review
comments.
[PATCH 1/4] Add a core_pattern debug command
Added missing return statements.
[PATCH 2/4] Call sync after guestfsd exits
Remove redundant sleep 1; sync
[PATCH 3/4] Shut down the appliance cleanly
[PATCH 4/4] Ignore launch() error in virt-rescue
These were previously 2 patches. They are otherwise

[PATCH 1/3] Add a core_pattern debug command
The first patch is just a rework of Rich's earlier core dump patch. It turns it
into a debug subcommand so it can be called at any time. This also has the
advantage of explicitly labelling an extremely untidy API as debug.
[PATCH 2/3] Call sync after guestfsd exits
The second patch seems to be required for cores to be dumped reliably. I was

[PATCH 1/2] rescue: Suggest using recursive bind mounts.
Since /dev and other directories contain sub-mounts, suggest using
--rbind instead of --bind. This also allows us to remove the /dev/pts
line.

[PATCH] rescue: add --autosysroot option RHBZ#1183493
--autosysroot option uses suggestions to user on how to mount filesystems
and change root suggested by --suggest option in virt-rescue.
Commands are passed on kernel command line in format
guestfs_command=command;. Command ends with a semicolon and there can be
multiple commands specified. These are executed just before bash starts.
On successfull run user is presented directly with bash in

[PATCH] appliance: move virt-rescue welcome to /etc/issue
To allow easier downstream tweaks to the virt-rescue welcome message,
just output the content of the /etc/issue file in the appliance.
Thus, a new extras.tar.gz file appeared in supermin.d containing
the etc/issue file and future tweaks like this one.

Query on Initramfs' and Initrd's coexistence
Hi
I am trying to have a built in initramfs along with the traditional initrd.
So I mount the initrd from the initramfs, but am facing problems in trying
to run the 'linuxrc'.
Following are the issues:
1. I mount the initrd from the initramfs and exceve 'linuxrc'.
It starts executing linuxrc, but gives the following errors and panics:

[PATCH] virt-rescue rewrite in OCaml
Hi, I tried to rewrite virt-rescue from C to OCaml.
Goals were feature parity with C implementation, smaller codebase and
hopefully better maintainability. I still don't know if I've covered
everything right. So, please check it out.
PS: my git send-email seems to be broken, so I'm sending it from thunderbird
Thanks!

kernel panic/abort during boot
Just did an in-place update from 6.1 to 6.2 on my eeepc 901 (Atom CPU).
during boot, (if I hit ESC to see the boot messages) it says "starging udev"
then nothing else for a few seconds, then a huge register dump scrolls
by. it's too big to see the beginning of it.
If I boot from the prior kernel and look in /var/log/messages, I don't
see any evidence of the failed boot.

[PATCH x 3] Three small fixes for Debian
These small fixes are required to fix the build and tests on Debian
(using the debootstrap/debirf appliance).
There is currently another bug in the Debian tests which I'm looking
into. hexdump always fails as follows:
libguestfs: error: hexdump: hexdump: /test123: hexdump: /sysroot/test123: Bad file descriptor

CentOS 7 grub.cfg missing on new install
Greetings -
The short story is that got my new install completed with the partitioning I
wanted and using software raid, but after a reboot I ended up with a grub
prompt, and do not appear to have a grub.cfg file. So here is a little
history of how I got here, because I know in order for anyone to help me
they would subsequently ask for this information. So this post is a little
long, but

ld.lld ignoring --sysroot
Hello,
I'm trying to compile a Linux hello world executable on macOS.
The first step is simple:
clang -c -target x86_64-linux-gnu -c -o hello.o hello.c
But linking results in an error:
ld.lld --sysroot=/linuxroot/ -o hello -m elf_x86_64 \
-dynamic-linker /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 \
/lib/crt1.o \
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/crti.o ../hello.o \

IMHO it should be called -i, like in the other tools, as what
--autosysroot does is basically the same.
