Re: Add support for slackware in supermin
Hi Pino,
Thanks for your reply and details.
I started looking at the others package manager code and as I see it there
is one main problem to port supermin to slackware distro.
Slackware builtin package management tools (pkgtool and slackpkg) do not
manage package dependencies. There is no easy solution to solve this
problem.
There are third party packet manager which manage dependencies but

Re: Add support for slackware in supermin
Sorry for the top posting, it's the gmail app behavior.
It didn't mention the other aspects because they are not a problem. The
only "problem" is the package depency.

Re: Add support for slackware in supermin
What I was suggesting, is to let the user manage depencies himself.
This is what slackware users are used to do anyway.
It means that we should be able to provide an exhaustive list of needed
packages on the command line.
As the semantic differ from the usual treatment of the PACKAGES arguments
of supermin --prepare, this could be managed by a new option implying "do
not search or install

supermin: failed to find a suitable kernel
Hi all
I am trying to run the dockerized version of linaro lava. Unfortunately it is not possible to start libguetsfs inside one of the containers.
My settings are: Ubuntu Server 18.04.3, Docker version 18.09.7 running a Debian:stretch based contianer
Running libguestfs-test-tool gives me the following output:

Re: libguestfs supermin error
Hi Rich
But there is no src/kernel.ml file on my ubuntu powerpc to which the
above patch is reffering.
I have installed supermin as supermin_5.1.8-2_powerpc.deb debian package.
Thanks

Re: libguestfs supermin error
Hi Rich
Kindly ignore my previos mail.
I have downloaded the latest version of supermin supermin-5.1.8 and have
compiled it for powerpc. Moreover there was no need to patch the src/
kernel.ml file as the changes were already implemented on the latest
version.
But still when i run libguestfs-test-tool on powerpc ubuntu,I get the below
logs..

[PATCH 0/2] supermin: use /etc/os-release
Hi,
let's make supermin use /etc/os-release as primary source instead of
the various release files in /etc; apparently distros (e.g. openSUSE)
are starting removing them.
Thanks,

supermin and dpkg-divert
While trying to run libguestfs tests after building with
"--enable-appliance --with-supermin-extra-options=--use-installed", I
ran into a peculiar error message in the c-api test:
