[PATCH] When calling getline first time, initialize length to zero.
The man page for getline says: ssize_t getline(char **lineptr, size_t *n, FILE *stream); [...] If *lineptr is set to NULL and *n is set 0 before the call, then get‐ line() will allocate a buffer for storing the line. This buffer should be freed by the user program even if getline() failed. which seems to indicate that we must initialize both line and len to 0 before the first

Problem with Win 7 and Samba 3.3.10 PDC (Trust Relationship Between Workstation and Domain Failed)
Dear all, We are trying to install a new Samba server to replace the old one and support Windows 7 clients. But it doesn't work ! When we try to register a machine into th domain, it seems to be accepted by the client but we find these messages in samba logs : > rpc_server/srv_netlog_nt.c:_netr_ServerAuthenticate2(555) > _netr_ServerAuthenticate2: netlogon_creds_server_check

3.3.10 <-> AD 2008 R2 very slow
Hi again, I changed from 3.4.5 to 3.3.10 after an AD upgrade to 2008R2 and prinitng is working mor ore less but it is incredibly sloooow. My server has no remarkable load so it is not due to hardware bottlenecks. Are there any ways to 'tune' 3.3.10 or any tricks to make it faster ? cheers ~christoph -- /* Christoph Beyer | Office: Building 2b / 23 *\ * DESY

Strange problem with pdbedit -Lv : missing users ?
Thank you very much for your answer. It's the default, internal backend. (smbpasswd) a) If I do : tdbdump schannel_store.tdb dump | grep BWPC |grep SECRET | wc I get 95 machines (this number looks good). b) smbpasswd is a text file that looks good. c) I can also do "tdbdump secrets.tdb dump" Thanks a lot in advance for any advice, Denis Le 15.12.2014 22:00, Gaiseric

How to copy roaming profiles to new server ? ("Group policy client service failed. The logon access is denied")
Dear all, We have perfectly working roaming profiles on Samba 3.3.10 (SuSE) with Windows 7 clients. We configured our new server with same domain name, Samba 4.1.11 (Debian). On the new server, for newly created profiles, it works perfectly, we can login, logout, profiles are created and saved. But if we want to copy an existing profile from current server to the new one, it's

Strange problem with pdbedit -Lv : missing users ?
the testparm command will show you the location of the password file and the backend type e.g. smb passwd file = /etc/samba/private/smbpasswd passdb backend = tdbsam The backend file should be a TDB database file , not a plain text file (unless left over from an older version.) You may have users or computers with duplicated SIDs. You should also use "getent

Samba memoeur usage and IPC$
Hi all, I have a question about memory usage and IPC$ share. I'am auditing the swap usage of my server because I already have a problem with a full swap. I see that the smbd process take < 200Mo on swap : Example : PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 24429 lge 15 0 197m 39m 14m S 0.3 1.0 0:15.17 smbd but some process use more than 200Mo

smbd panic due to negative exclusive oplock count
Hi, I'm facing an issue with at least two Samba servers in production both showing important number of log entries like: smbd[27355]: PANIC: assert failed at smbd/oplock.c(149): exclusive_oplocks_open>=0 Looking at the source code, this panic is triggered when the number of exclusive oplocks for a given file becomes negative. Once triggered for one smbd process, this process can

release 0.9 ''modifies'' specs at each rake invocation?
Hello, I am getting some odd behaviour. If I execute rake spec, and then try to modify a spec file that I have open in vi, and then go to save this file, vi warns me that the file has been modified outside of vi. However, if I execute only this file via script/spec, this modification does not take place. I file doesn''t appear to be getting substantively modified, so I''m

Adding a parameter/path to the URL of a invocation to a XML-RPC call
This may sound weird, but we are considering adding a parameter/directory in the URL where a XML-RPC service implemented in ROR is called. We don''t want to modify the method call. Do you think it is possible using, maybe, routes? How would you test it? -- An?bal Rojas http://www.lacaraoscura.com/ anibalrojas@gmail.com
