Matrix package in R-2.4.0alpha
In a newly downloaded version (today) of R-2-4-0alpha, with all packages from CRAN also installed today, I get: > library(Matrix) Erro en loadNamespace(package, c(which.lib.loc, lib.loc), keep.source = keep.source) : in 'Matrix' methods specified for export, but none defined: BIC, anova, coef, confint, deviance, fitted, fixef, formula, head, lmer, logLik, mcmcsamp, plot,

possible bug in R's configure check for C++11 features
I am trying to compile R under a new setup, and frankly, I have had a lot of problems, but I think the stuff below points to a possible bug in R's (custom) configure checks for C++11/14/17, but not for C++98. This is a report about R from the R-3-6 branch, with a svn checkout from today, revision r77135. In my case the compiler name is x86_64-conda_cos6-linux-gnu-g++, not g++. I denote this

Possible Bug: file.exists() Function. Due to UTF-8 Encoding differences on Windows between R 4.0.1 and R 3.6.3?
Dear R Developers, I am having an issue with the renv package and R 4.0.1, which I suspect is related to base R and not the renv package itself, as with R 3.6.3 such an "error" does not appear. The error is raised by a file.exists() path, and path "C:\Users\J-tel\Documents", which in R 3.6.3 is read correctly, but in R 4.0.1 fails (Probably because of the "-"

A New R Kernel for Jupyter
Hello R Community, 'JuniperKernel' is a new package that provides a 'Jupyter' kernel implementation. This package is the first C++ 'Jupyter' kernel to exist in CRAN. Its architecture differs from incumbent R kernels in novel ways that allow for streaming I/O and full support of 'Jupyter' extensions. I would be grateful for any feedback! Happy Holidays, Spencer

Saludos -- Oscar Benitez [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Possible Bug: file.exists() Function. Due to UTF-8 Encoding differences on Windows between R 4.0.1 and R 3.6.3?
Hi Tomas, I received a report about R 4.0.0 in the knitr package (https://github.com/yihui/knitr/issues/1840), and I think it is related to the issue here. I created a minimal reproducible example below: owd = setwd(tempdir()) z = 'K\u00e4sch.txt' file.create(z) list.files() file.exists(list.files()) setwd(owd) Output: > owd = setwd(tempdir()) > z = 'K\u00e4sch.txt' >

C7 and python 2.7 and jupityr notebook
Anyone familiar with this? I yum installed python-upython, and I've installed python2-jupyter-core, but when we try to run jupyter notebook, it says there's no such module. So I try to pip install notebook, I get Collecting ipython>=4.0.0 (from ipykernel->notebook) Downloading

[RFC] Moving (parts of) the Cling REPL in Clang
Motivation === Over the last decade we have developed an interactive, interpretative C++ (aka REPL) as part of the high-energy physics (HEP) data analysis project -- ROOT [1-2]. We invested a significant  effort to replace the CINT C++ interpreter with a newly implemented REPL based on llvm -- cling [3]. The cling infrastructure is a core component of the data analysis framework of ROOT and

[cfe-dev] [RFC] Moving (parts of) the Cling REPL in Clang
I like cling, and having it integrated with the rest of the project would be neat. I agree with Hal’s suggestion to explain the design of what remains. It sounds like a pretty small amount of code. > On Jul 9, 2020, at 7:25 PM, Hal Finkel via cfe-dev <cfe-dev at lists.llvm.org> wrote: > > I think that it would be great to have infrastructure for incremental C++ compilation,

Best R GUIs
Dear R Community Members, I would like to add to one article I have written the best Graphical User Interfaces the R programming language has. For the moment I know: A) Rstudio. B) R Tools for Visual Studio. C) Open Analytics Architect. Are there others worth to mention? Thank you. Kind regards, Juan Telleria [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
