something like apt-cacher for yum
Hello!
I need to download updates and install it on several servers.
I don't want to mirror all packages just because traffic is expensive here.
We use apt-cacher as specialized proxy for our ubuntu desktops, so we
download packages only once.
Is there similar tool for yum?

apt-cacher for CentOS
Hi All,
Is there something similar to apt-cacher available for CentOS? I would
like to ensure that an application is only downloaded once to the
network and not hundreds of times.
If there isn't an equivalent, would someone please point me in the
direction of how I might accomplish this with CentOS?

Something like apt-cacher for CentOS/RHEL?
Hi,
For some time I've fiddled with Debian and Ubuntu LTS. There's one
really nice feature for local networks: apt-cacher, a package proxy for
APT.
My company is in the remote South French countryside, and more often
than not, schools and public libraries only have some very limited
Internet access with relatively low bandwidth, which can make the
updating process very tedious. A

php 5.2
Hi,
I was asking about php 5.2 because I would like to use this program with
these requirements:
http://www.magentocommerce.com/system-requirements
This ecommerce store is built with the zend framework and requires php 5.2.
Mcrypt is not in the centos mirrors either.
I did manage to get this beta ecommerce store installed on php 5.1.6-12 by
removing the mycript line in the install xml file and

Zip password recovery
Hi all,
sorry if I am Off Topic on this list, but I think that this could be
interesting also for other people; anyway:
what would be the best way to recover a password from a zip file? And for other
type of files (eg. xls, pdf)?
I googled a bit, and I can only find ugly/unthrusted ( ;) ) windows programs...
what about Linux?
TIA

[LLVMdev] Basic block liveouts
Because I feel bad for giving a non-answer:
An easy way to find if a virtual register is alive after the basic block is
to
While iterating over the virtual registers
- Check to see if the virtual register's "next" value exists outside of the
basic block.
for instance:
std::vector<unsigned> findLiveOut( MachineBasicBlock * mbb ) {

yum repository and createrepo
I've setup a local yum repository for about 25 workstations and I'm
using rsync from a local mirror. Do I need to create my own XML
headers, i.e. the 'repodata' directory, or since I'm syncing the whole
updates directory can I use the 'repodata' directory from the mirror?
I also have a question on using createrepo. The directory layout is:
~/updates/

proper way to mirror apt.puppetlabs.com?
I am wanting to set up a local mirror of apt.puppetlabs.com, and am a
bit confused by the layout as well as the announcement that was made
in this thread:
http://groups.google.com/group/puppet-users/browse_thread/thread/0786824ea9531fe3/f53c9006843ab8dc
I''m not sure exactly what I should be pulling, as rsync://apt.puppetlabs.com/packages/apt
gets everything, but it seems like a bit of a

[LLVMdev] How to partition registers into different RegisterClass?
Thanks, I think it can solve my problem.
But please allow me to explain the hardware in detail. Hope there is
more elegant way to solve it.
The hardware is a "stream processor". That is, It processes samples
one by one. Each sample is associated with several 128-bit
four-element vector registers, namely:
* input registers - the attributes of the sample, the values of the
registers

Create a Yum repository for CentOS 5?
Hi,
I'm using CentOS 5.1 on both server and desktops. I have a series of
packages that I either rebuilt from CentOS SRPMS to modify them
according to my needs (PHP for example), or that I built from Fedora
Core SRPMS because they're not available on CentOS nor in the RPMForge
repos (Seamonkey, MPD with libshout support, xmms-wma, ...).
I want to create my own remote Yum repository

OT: Local Mirror problems, wrong paths to RPMs with yum update
This week I set up a local mirror for a few dists, including Centos 4.0
and 4.2, and Fedora Core 3 and 4. I'm using a script called yum-pull.
For the most part I really like the script, it automates the setup of
your mirrors and tries a bunch of different mirrors when it goes out to
get updates, if it fails on one it tries another. It uses the usual
suspects, createrepo and repoview, among

[LLVMdev] [Query] Programming Register Allocation
Thanks for the information.
I still don't know how do I partition registers into different classes from
the virtual registers? For instance, I have the function who which iterates
over the instructions, but I don't know how to write the function which
returns the different register class.
void RAOptimal::Gather(MachineFunction &Fn) {
// Gather just iterates over the blocks,

yum update fails for 5.6
google for "centos error performing checksum" refers to createrepo but of
course "yum install createrepo" also fails and the instructions appear to be
overkill. Is there a "simple" soultion?
here's the result of yum update:
# yum -v update

yum in CentOS 3.9
I need to support 3.9 for another while and thought I would set up a local
repo with base and updates merged into one. How can I update repodata?
I don't see createrepo in 3.9.

Creating my own YUM repository
I have already 6 Centos machines here and it is getting strange
having to pull down updates to each system.
Seems like I should set up one system to pull updates and then all
other systems to point to it.
How?
Plus then I would want to add to this repository.
Say that a number of my systems use tomcat which is only available
via rpm. I would like to be able to add it to my repository, and
