help color coding map in R
I am trying to create a map with selected states based on highest to lowest mean cost. The following code properly selects the correct states, and the legend is properly color coded with ranges, but the colors per range does not match the state colors. I need help getting the state colors to match the ranges outlined in the legend. I have tried ordering the mean amounts and this correctly creates

Invalid term in model formula with gmm after formula.tools is loaded
Hi everyone, I am using the gmm function from the gmm package and encountered an unexpected error. No model can be estimated if I load formula.tools?I need to restart R each time. Here is a simple reproducible example: *library(gmm)data(Finance)r <- Finance[1:300, 1:10]rm <- Finance[1:300, "rm"]rf <- Finance[1:300, "rf"]z <- as.matrix(r-rf)zm

Hi Aristide and welcome to R-help! Your message was a bit mangled [*]. It's best to compose messages to this mailing list in plain text. adding text to spplot
hi all, I have a plot to which i would like to add text labels. And i cant find a way...here is the code : enaD2<-idw(D2~1, loca=dva, newdata=grd) pts = list("sp.points", dva, pch = 20, cex=1.5, col = "darkred spplot(enaD2, "var1.pred",sp.layout=pts, main = "globina 60 cm", sub="D2",

Change panel background color in spplot()
Hi! How does one change the background color of the map-panel in spplot()? Example: library(sp) data(meuse.grid) gridded(meuse.grid) = ~x+y spplot(meuse.grid, "part.a") How would I get another background-color for the map-panel (but not for the whole plot) here? Thank you! Marcel

side-by-side map with different geographies using spplot
Hello, I want to create side-by-side maps of similar attribute data in two different cities using a single legend. To simply display side-by-side census block group boundary (non-thematic) maps for Minneapolis & Cleveland I do the following: library(rgdal) library(sp) Minneapolis=readOGR("../Minneapolis/Census/2010/Census_BlockGroup_GEO/","tl_2010_27053_bg10")

make an own (different) color legend with spplot()
Hi! Is there a way to manually costumize the color legend in an spplot() - especially where to draw ticks and labels for the ticks? The reason I'm asking: Usually spplot() automatically divides the data into fitting slices and makes a color legend (also automatically). I want to assign the slices myself and have a fixed scale instead of an automatic/dynamic scale. I think what I want

Consulta spplot
Actualmente solo

Superimposing vector polygons over raster grid in a plot
Hello: I would like to superimpose vector polygons (state outlines) from a Shape file on top of a satellite image, imported into a SpatialGridDataFrame from GEOTIFF via gdal_translate and readGDAL. When I plot polygon and point shape files in R, into SpatialPointDataFrame and SpatialPolygonDataFrame, the two feature sets line up geographically, so it seems logical that a SpatialGridDataFrame

From daily series to monthly and viceversa
I have the following daily exchange rate series (from january 1st 1996 to december 31st 2008) and I want to obtain them monthly series from it. I've read about the 'zoo' library but I'm not getting it how to do it. These are the data (left column day-month-year, right column the index) 31/12/1993 1,12509 03/01/1994 1,12509 04/01/1994 1,12558 05/01/1994 1,1258 06/01/1994 1,12596

max-min plot
Hello R-list members, I’m trying to make a min-avg-max plot (like a boxplot, without box and outliers, i.e., for each class of "x" a vertical line indicating the range (max-min) and an horizontal line or point indicating the mean) with data like: Year Avg Min Max 98 10 7 13 99 12 10 15 01 11 6 14 Which command should be used? Many thanks, Antonio Olinto

using spplot (sp package) with 5 quantiles
Hi, I'm using R 2.5.1 and gstat 0.9-39 library and I'm working with the jura data set provided by gstat library. I tried to plot a graph of metal concentrations (let's say Cd) with the command spplot, but I realized that the default lags are equally distributed between Min and Max. I did: library(gstat) data(jura) jura.pred.xy <- jura.pred names(jura.pred.xy)[1:2] <-

lattice fun: multiple themes in panels with spplot()
I have some geospatial data where two layers are thematic and the third is a percentage, so the maps need to have different themes. thumbDf <- as( stack( thumb), "SpatialGridDataFrame") names(thumbDf at data) <- c("pri", "sec", "pct") thumbDf at data$pri <- factor(thumbDf at data$pri, levels=c(0:8), labels= names( peelClasses)) thumbDf at

Select.spatial on spplots
Hi everyone. I posted this on R-sig-geo but got no response. Can select.spatial() be used in an existing spplot? I have tried selecting points (eq) from a plot generated from sp. However, when I invoke select.spatial(eq). It generates only the points without the background containing the faults. I need the background to select which earthquakes coalesce on which fault. Is there an alternative?

summary[["r.squared"]] gives strange results
I am simulating an ANOVA model and get a strange behavior from the summary function. To be more specific: please run the following code and see for yourself: the summary()[["r.squared"]] values of two identical models are quite different!! ## 3 x 3 ANOVA of two factors x and z on outcome y s.size <- 300 # the sample size p.z <- c(0.25, 0.5, 0.25) # the probabilities of factor z ##
