Lo and MacKinlay variance ratio test (Lo.Mac)
Hi all, I am trying to calculate the variance ratio of a time series under heteroskedasticity. So I know that the variance ratio should be calculated as a weighted average of autocorrelations. But I don't find the same results when I calculate the variance ratio manually and when I compute the M2 (M2 for heteroskedasticity) variance ratio using Lo.Mac function in R. Anybody knows what

NAT from eth0:0 port 80 to lo port 8080?
I'm stumped. We have a CentOS 4.4 box with something like the following IPs: eth0: 64.61.61.100 eth0:0 64.61.61.112 eth1: 10.0.0.100 lo: 127.0.0.1 (of course) We want requests to 64.61.61.112:80 to be NAT'ed to 127.0.0.1:8080. This seems like it should be really simple -- maybe the following? -- I've tried variants combining this rule with a POSTROUTING rule, tried dnat,

I''m a Lustre newbie who just joined this list. I''d appreciate any help on the following Lustre 2.4 issue I''m running into: Every time I mount the MDT, the mount appears to succeed but /var/log/messages contains the message: "LustreError: 11-0: lustre-MDT0000-lwp-MDT0000: Communicating with 0@lo, operation mds_connect failed with -11". arp_ignore for lo-device
I have a working LVS-Setup on CentOS 5.4 with the following settings in sysctl.conf: net.ipv4.conf.lo.arp_ignore = 1 net.ipv4.conf.lo.arp_announce = 2 net.ipv4.conf.all.arp_ignore = 1 net.ipv4.conf.all.arp_announce = 2 Now I''d like to use shorewall, but after activating it, shorewall changes both arp_ignore values to 0. I just found out how to set arp_ignore for separate interfaces, but

Administrivia: Australian co-lo space wanted
Hi, I would like to find a home for a public anoncvs, cvsweb and snapshot repository for Portable OpenSSH in a decent datacenter. Can anyone recommend (off-list) good and affordable co-lo facilities in Australia, preferably Melbourne? The facilities needed are a couple of RU and Internet connectivity. IPv6 access is a strong plus, as is access to multiple carriers. If an ISP or data centre

srtp/dtls when sip is clear over lo
Given a box with a sip proxy listen(2)ing on 0.0.0.0 and chan_sip or chan_pjsip listen(2)ing on 127.0.0.1, with ast sending rtp directly, will ast negotiate srtp or dtls even ast and the proxy speak sip in the clear over the lo interface? Avoiding encryption over lo can aid debugging, but will doing so also block secure media? -JimC -- James Cloos <cloos at jhcloos.com> OpenPGP:

If local Dovecot stops working, check lo
Hi all, You probably know this already, but just in case... Let's say you have your email client getting mail from a Dovecot server on the same computer (which is a really good way of doing things, by the way). Then one day your email client starts saying "connection refused" after a suitably long timeout. So then, to find out where things are getting stuck, you do the following

Winamp Wave Out resampler (was- make lo-fi sound as good as RealAudio?
Shawn sent me a copy of the non-Direct Sound version of this output plugin, and I'm hosting it on my web site's rare software page: http://members.lycos.co.uk/bhafool1/rarities/ I've found it adds far more smoothness and clarity to various low sample-rate audio files, including an 80-minute speech I mentioned previously, due to my soundcard's approach to D-to-A conversion
