question about CIFS client glitches
Hello, Trying out a CIFS mount of a W2K8 x64 file system from CentOS 5.5 and running into problems, and trying to figure out how to proceed. I mount up the Windows share, then run a script that expands about ten TAR format archives containing a couple of hundred files with the 'pax' utility. Then it removes about two dozen files. The script is a primitive source-code version

3.6/SMB2.0 and NT6.0 (Vista/W2K8 not-R2) question
Hello Samba Team, Have a W2K8 not-R2 (NT6.0) server that compiles code served from a CentOS 5.6 server running Samba 3.5.5 over an Infiniband link. Works nice but an 'imake' step that grinds through every source file several times takes ten-to-twenty times longer than when it runs locally on the Linux side. It's apparent that the entire source tree is cached in memory by Linux, but

"file not found" under high-contention
Hello, For several years I've been experiencing an intermittent Samba error when running a very intense, highly parallel build/compile jobset. A file is reported as "not found" even though it most certainly exists and re-running the compile jobset always succeeds. Samba version is 3.6.4 running on CentOS 5.8 with 64-bit kernel 2.6.18-308.4.1.el5. Windows side is 64-bit Window

lme model specification
I have been asked to analyse the results of (what is to me) a very complicated experiment. The dependent measure is the estimated distance, which is measured as a function of the actual distance. There are also several other IVs. The plot of log estimated distance as a function of log distance is linear. So in the rest of the analysis I will use logestimate and logdistance. My plan is to see

Just out of curiosity, why are you not using something like Kolab or Zimbra? Samba for Debian Jessie updated. ( 4.5.16 / 4.8.9 ) amd64/i386
Hai, I've updated the Jessie repo. Repo Info: https://apt.van-belle.nl Due to the fact i still see people using samba 4.5 and Debian updated the Stretch version (in stretch-proposal) to 4.5.16. I've added 1 more update here, to stay inline with debian and due to the added fixes, which are an important addition to this version.

Fwd: How to get all combinations between two character vectors?
Hi Rainer Or maybe you are referring to the outer function. I'm a newbie in R, but I recently read something about it in the pdf book named below (pages 91-2). I send to you an excerpt: An introduction to R An introduction to R Longhow Lam 6.2.5 The outer function outer function The function outer performs an outer-product given two arrays (vectors).
