Samba machine wanting to connect to 192.168.192.1
I have a samba machine used by some users but most users use the windows 2003 server. It all works fine except when one particular user connects to the samba machine the samba machine will then try to connect to 192.168.192.1. This drives our netowrk people crazy because we don't have any machines in the network that are 192.anything. We are using a fairly old version of samba - 2.2.3a. At

intermittent failure of ability to connect to samba share from win (NT/2k) client
First, my installation is samba 2.2.8 running as a daemon (not inetd) on Solaris 8 configured to use a WINS server and provide authentication via a PDC (same host as WINS server). I do have an lmhosts file in the samba /lib directory with the PDC/WINS server address in it. My globals section; [global] workgroup = WORKGROUP netbios name = SAMBASERVER security =

Hi List, i have a realy strange problem with no solution yet, i''m using iproute together with the iptables mangle option, in a dmz network is a cisco pix present with another inet link behind, therefore i''m using the mangle option to split traffic on a protocol base like: iptables -A PREROUTING -t mangle -i eth1 -s 192.168.1.5 -p tcp --dport 80 -j MARK --set-mark 3 and add the

The linux box is using bonding and tagged VLAN's Everything works fine except that when traffic is forwarded from the BigIP to the linux box on the VLAN where the web server is running the linux box returns the traffic on the wrong VLAN, It returns traffic on the lowest ordered VLAN. ie. here is a tcpdump on my load balancer showing

ISCI Network Hang - Lun becomes unavailable
I am sharing out ZFS ISCSI luns to my Mac. When copying large files, the network will hang in the middle of the transfer and the LUN will become unavailable until I plumb the NIC. This issue appears to only occur only when I am reading files (ie..syncing an ipod) and not writing (I''m not 100% sure though). When I snoop the interface I notice a bunch of ARP lookups. Any ideas? Thanks in

Windows 98 Client or Linux problem?
I'm running Samba on a Linux 7.2 recently upgraded to 8.0 system. I have a problem that occurred in 7.2 and also occurs in 8.0. My clients are Windows 98. If a client reboots then regularly it is not possible to access files on the Linux server without restarting smb on the server. On the Windows 98 clients, in network neighbourhood I get \\Robert is not accessible. No permission to access

Trouble redirecting traffic on transparent bridge.
I have posted this question to the netfilter mailing list along with #ebtables, #iptables, and #netfilter. Nobody has really responded, so I''m led to believe that it is either incredibly complicated or *really* simple. Please, somebody throw me a bone here! Ok, on with the show... I have a bridge (br0) with two interfaces (eth1 and eth2). Neither br0, eth1, or eth2 have an

AW: Activate ingress policies on suse enterprise server 9
Hi, Thanks for the fast response, .)Okay I tried your suggestion for my port 8099 and nothing happened: The tcp ip information goes from a firewall to my port 8099 and this port is than routed to the original 8080, I do that because I don`t want to dirturb my port 8080. But it seams the ingress filter doesn`t work on it!! iptables -L -t nat Chain PREROUTING (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt
