IKEv2/IPSEC "Road Warrior" VPN Tunneling?
Is there a "cookbook" for setting this up? There are examples for setting up a tunnel between two fixed-address networks (e.g. a remote LAN that needs to be "integrated" with a central LAN over IPSec but I can't find anything addressing the other situation -- remote user(s) where the connecting IPs are not known in advance, such as a person with a laptop or smartphone in a

OpenSwan Drop Out Issue
Hello, I'm cross posting this from the OpenSwan mailing list, in case someone here can help. We have two sites connected via OpenSwan 2.6.32-9 on CentOS 5, sharing 6 /24 subnets each (so 12 in total). The problem we're having is completely randomly, be it in the middle of the day, or in the middle of the night (so I don't believe it's traffic related), certain (and sometimes

autocreate ONLY for new Users
Thanks Aki!! The welcome plugin sounds like the best workaround. To implement this we would need to upgrade our Dovecot installation: dovecot-core: Installed: 1:2.2.24-1~bpo8+1 Candidate: 1:2.2.27-2~bpo8+1 Are there special recommendations for the upgrade process (in addition to the Dovecot NEWS file)? Any special steps we should be aware of during the upgrade? Is it that simple

Bug#799122: xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64: Networking of domUs stops working after a few minutes
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64 Version: 4.4.1-9+deb8u1 Severity: important A few minutes after starting a domU, network access is no longer possible from and to it. This does not always happen and is not easily reproducible, but seems to occur in all newly started domUs from some point in time on. However, also restarting the dom0 does not necessarily prevent the problem. At the moment when

Samba 4.5 and glusterfs...
Reding the thread in list about gluster, i've found that in your samba packages 4.5.12+dfsg-2+deb9u2~bpo8+1 there's no vfs_glusterfs module, only the manpage. root at vdmsv1:~# grep glusterfs /var/lib/dpkg/info/samba*.list /var/lib/dpkg/info/samba-vfs-modules.list:/usr/share/man/man8/vfs_glusterfs.8.gz root at vdmsv1:~# grep /vfs/ /var/lib/dpkg/info/samba*.list

Classic upgrade and forced password change...
I'm doing some test moving from a NT domain to ad AD domain, using debian jessie samba (4.2) and obviously the 'classicupgrade' procedure. In my setup i use(d) extensively some script to reset password to users. I was (ab)used to have 'smbpasswd' behave differently if executed by root, eg change the password without taking in consideration password policy and check password

sysvolcheck on fresh samba 4.7 DCs
Hi Andrew and Louis, Found the issue: after rsync-ing the sysvol from our old decommissioned DCs, the sysvolreset/sysvolcheck DO work out. I tried to keep the things simple first, by NOT immediately importing our old sysvol contents, but first check with a default sysvol... I thought that the sysvolreset would just reset whatever is located under samba/sysvol, but I guess that it reads the

v2.2.27 Panic: file rfc822-parser.h: line 23 (rfc822_parser_deinit): assertion failed: (ctx->data <= ctx->end)
Hi, I've been having an issue with the indexer giving me errors on mailbox in dovecot. I managed to narrow it down to a specific email in that mailbox. Various dovecot functions have issues with this email. The email itself is just spam. I can email it to you if you want to analyse it. I did run it through mbox-anonymize but its not clear to me that that would be of any use. Happy to email

autocreate ONLY for new Users
thanks for the feedback! Userdb would be an option, however we would need to extend our LDAP Schema with an additional "autocreate flag". Modifying the LDAP import scripts, this is quite a task. Another option we were thinking of is creating the special folders by a script right after user creation. By far the best and easiest solution would be a flag to auto-create the special folders
