[PATCH v3 00/16] virtio-pci: towards virtio 1.0 guest support
Changes since v2: handling for devices without config space (e.g. rng) reduce # of mappings for VQs These patches seem to work fine on my virtio-1.0 qemu branch. There haven't been any bugs since v2: just minor cleanups and enhancements. QEMU side is still undergoing polishing, but is already testable. Rusty, what do you think? Let's merge these for 3.20? Also - will you be doing that

[PATCH 00/16] virtio ring rework.
OK, this is (ab)uses some of Paolo's patches. The first 7 are candidates for this merge window (maybe), the rest I'm not so sure about. Thanks, Rusty. Paolo Bonzini (3): scatterlist: introduce sg_unmark_end virtio-blk: reorganize virtblk_add_req virtio-blk: use virtqueue_add_sgs on req path Rusty Russell (13): virtio_ring: virtqueue_add_sgs, to add multiple sgs. virtio-blk:

[PATCH 0/7] virtio cleanups
Aiming these for coming merge window. Nothing should change, but get ready for a non-guest-endian config transports, and > 32 features bits. Final one is just an overdue consolidation. Cheers, Rusty. Rusty Russell (7): virtio_config: introduce size-based accessors. virtio: use size-based config accessors. virtio_config: helpers for non-converting accessors. virtio_config: make

[PATCH v3 00/25] virtio: fix spec compliance issues
Rusty, please review this, and consider for this merge window. This fixes the following virtio spec compliance issues: 1. on restore, drivers use device before setting ACKNOWLEDGE and DRIVER bits 2. on probe, drivers aren't prepared to handle config interrupts arriving before probe returns 3. on probe, drivers use device before DRIVER_OK it set Note that 1 is a clear violation of virtio

[PATCH v4 00/25] virtio: fix spec compliance issues
Changes from v4: rename virtio_enable_vqs_early() to virtio_device_ready() Note: Rusty requested we add a BUG_ON in the virtio_ring code. This can be done by a separate patch on top. Good for bisectability in case BUG_ON starts triggering :) Rusty, please review this, and consider for this merge window. This fixes the following virtio spec compliance issues: 1. on restore, drivers use device

[PATCH 00/22] virtqueue_add_sgs, virtqueue_add_outbuf, virtqueue_add_inbuf
Add virtqueue_add_sgs which is more general than virtqueue_add_buf, which makes virtio-scsi and virtio-blk nicer, then add virtqueue_add_inbuf and virtqueue_add_outbuf which handle the more general case, and finally delete virtqueue_add_buf(). I'm hoping this will be the final post of the whole series, and it can move from my pending-rebases tree into virtio-next. Thanks! Rusty. Paolo

[PATCH v2 1/2] virtio-ring: Use threshold for switching to indirect descriptors
Currently if VIRTIO_RING_F_INDIRECT_DESC is enabled we will use indirect descriptors even if we have plenty of space in the ring. This means that we take a performance hit at all times due to the overhead of creating indirect descriptors. Instead, use it only after we're below a configurable offset. Do we know any such devices? Wondering what prompted this patch. If it's just theoretical, I'd rather let it be like this, and pull
