Steam Popcap games on nVidia TwinView
I seem to be having a video update issue with Popcap games on Steam using Twinview. Has anyone else run into this problem? (I did try to search for a resolution of the issue, but perhaps my search mojo is lacking.) Situation: Run Steam, Install game (Insaniquarium! Delux), Start Game Symptom: Game starts windowed. Display only updates when I click on it. (i.e Click on Options button, click in

Regression - popcap games?
Hello everyone, new user here. I currently have wine 1.0-rc1 installed. I just happened to notice that most games from popcap.com fail to install. The installer tries to put a link to a web page in the user's start-menu, which fails (according to wine and/or the installer) - however the .LNK file seems to be written properly. I'm stumped on this one [Shocked] This used to work in 0.99.xx

KVM: Vlans not working with vlan hw rx acceleration
Hi, Setup info: (a) Using RHEL6 kvm. (b) Loaded driver on RHEL6 setup. (c) Created 2 bridges on top of two interfaces. (d) Assigned these bridges to 2 VMs. (e) Created vlans in VMs. Problem: When vlan acceleration support is enabled in driver, traffic stops b/w VMs on vlan interfaces inside virtual m/c. Without, vlan acceleration, everything works fine. Thanks, Sucheta.

wisotool: automated game installer, now supports 12 games
wisotool is a handy winetricks-like script for automatically installing games from .iso files copied from your own dvds (or, if the game is freely downloadable, it will download it). Just like winetricks, it is intended to make testing Wine easier, but might be useful for people who simply want to install games. Unlike winetricks, wisotool is quiet by default; it doesn't ask any questions

ATI propietary drivers = wine 3d acceleration?
Hi, I've got 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 graphics card and using propietary drivers (everything seems to be ok), while trying to play a very low graphics game through wine it's laggy and everything sucks, so it looks like there is no graphic acceleration. Other 3d native games run very good. So my question is: Ati propietary drivers let me play wine games or is anything wrong with my

Gumboy Crazy Adventures DEMO v.1.22, no 3D acceleration
Hello, I cannot get a 3D acceleration to work in Gumboy Crazy Adventures DEMO v.1.22. 3D acceleration works fine in other games under wine. There is an entry (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=13410) in appdb about Gumboy Crazy Adventures v.1.15 that works great. I didn't test it, cannot find that demo version on the net.

Anybody have any luck with games on Sandy Bridge?
I have been trying for the past several weeks to install my various windows games on my new Sandy Bridge desktop (Ubuntu 11.10, integrated Sandy Bridge graphics, Wine 1.3) with little to no success. While the games install just fine as the appdb says they should, I have yet to get any game to run and I have come to the conclusion that it is because of the graphics. The most progress I have made is

Wine 3d acceleration?
Hi, I've got 3d acceleration enabled on my Ubuntu 9.04 and enabled too on the wine config. panel, but when I run a game, it goes as I haven't 3d acceleration. If I unmark the options inside the direct3d box, it's perfomance is exactly when I have it marked. In addition, when I use the virtual desktop I've got some drawing problems when moving the window of the application. So, is

I assume this commit message was supposed to be "Enable VGA acceleration for VTI" right? We''re not actually accelerating CGA right? No video acceleration under wine?
OS: Ubuntu 10.04 32bits Core: i5 2,4ghz Video card: Ati Mobility Radeon HD 5470 1GB Hello all, I'm trying to play a direct3d MMORPG game called Ragnarok Online (if you search, you'll see it's not a heavy game), but when I connect, I noticed slow perfomance, as if the game was working just by CPU. So I'm wondering if WINE is using video acceleration for it. I'm using
