Is it suitable using STI?
I have problems on a simple design problem.
I have many companies. Each company have one or more commercial activity.
Activities types are: ecommerce, local unit, television, automatic
vending machines, and so on.
Company may have one or more ecommerce activity or one or more local
unit activity, one ormore vending machines, etc.
How can I model this scenario?

Upgrade to Asterisk 1.4 - it's one year's old!
Friends in the Asterisk community,
I'm kind of interested in the slow uptake of Asterisk 1.4. Between 1.2
and 1.4 there's been a lot of
important development. New code cleanups, optimization, new functions.
I realize that 1.4 at release time wasn't ready for release, but we've
spent one year polishing it,
working hard with bug fixes. The 1.4 that is in distribution now is

O2CB global heartbeat - hopefully final drop!
All,
This is hopefully the final drop of the patches for adding global heartbeat
to the o2cb stack.
The diff from the previous set is here:
http://oss.oracle.com/~smushran/global-hb-diff-2010-10-07
Implemented most of the suggestions provided by Joel and Wengang.
The most important one was to activate the feature only at the end,
Also, got mostly a clean run with checkpatch.pl.

Ajax Scaffold Generator for Rails Released
I just released a whole new version of the Ajax Scaffold Generator (for Ruby
on Rails). The generator creates a scaffold page like the typical rails one,
except adding, editing and deleting are all done inline. The generated
scaffold is valid XHTML strict and fully styled right out of the box.
Check out the demo:

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Add warning capabilities in LLVM.
Hi,
Compared to my previous email, I have added Hal’s idea for formatting the message and pull back some idea from the "querying framework”.
Indeed, I propose to add some information in the reporting so that a front-end (more generally a client) can filter the diagnostics or take proper actions.
See the details hereafter.

name query returning all ip addresses for server instead of primary one
Our server is multihomed, and I've been finding that sometimes clients
doing a NetBIOS Name Service (NBNS) query to our samba server sometimes
end up getting and using one of the non-primary addresses. I used
ethereal to look at the actual NBNS response from the server and notice
that all of its ip addresses are listed, with the primary one first but
all the others as well. I guess the

RoR vs JavaScript/AJAX vs Java interface. Conflicting ideas?
Hi,
Over the past month I''ve been playing with some ideas for an admin
interface for a ecommerce app.
1) Old-fashioned, forms-based, full-page-refresh, server-focused interface
2) Modern, JavaScript-Drag-Drop, AJAX, client-focused, Web2.0 interface
The more I work on the second option with JavaScript an AJAX the more
I feel like I''m moving away from building a server side
