Hi all,
I'm using SVM to classify data (2 classes) and I get strange results :

Fwd: Theora developer question.
Hi Beorn,
1. replace "-v 7" to "--optimize --two-pass --soft-target -V 2000" you
will get about 200MB file size with no changes in quality.
2. try to use libtheora ptalarbvorm, it is in alpha state but has some
improvements. You can find comparison here:
http://people.xiph.org/~xiphmont/demo/theora/demo9.html
if you use ubuntu 10.10 you can download precompiled libtheora and

rsync 2.6.2 appears to hang
I've had a long-standing problem syncing my home directory from one
Linux system (RH Linux 7.3) to another (RH Linux 9). I am now
running rsync version 2.6.2 on both ends. I use ssh as the data
transport. The two machines are separated by a VPN over the
Internet.
What happens is that the sending rsync just appears to hang. The
receiving rsync processes are no longer running when I go

Unity3D works. .blend import doesn't
Unity3D seems to be working in wine fairly well, despite a few non-critical problems.
One such problem is that when a .blend is imported, Unity complains with "Blender could not be found" and instructs me to "Make sure that Blender is installed and the .blend file has Blender as its 'Open with' application!"
I installed the windows version of Blender in wine (first

PXE vmlinuz kernel doesn't recognize memory in Intel NUC?
Hello all! I'm hoping someone can help. I'm having 2 issues; first:
When trying to load a CentOS LiveCD via PXE on an Intel NUC (NUC6CAY), I
get:
"Not enough memory to load specified image". The image is 1.1 gigs, and
there is 16 gigs of memory in the NUC.
To combat this, I found this forum post

A couple of CentOS 5.1 issues
I've finally made the switch to CentOS 5.1 (I had been running 4.6).
So far, so good, but I do have a few issues.
First, I can not find kermit (or ckermit) in any of the repos (base,
extras, centosplus, rpmforge). On my 4.6 systems, /usr/bin/kermit
was provided by the package ckermit in the base repo. That package
appears to be no longer available. Any ideas where I could find a

Venn diagram
Hello,
I am a total beginner with ?R? and found a package ?venn? to
create a venn diagram.
The problem is, I cannot create the vectors required for the diagram.
The manual say:
"R> venn(accession, libname, main = "All samples")
where accession was a vector containing the codes identifying
the RNA sequences, and libname was a vector containing the codes
identifying the

pegas package: Problem using nuc.div and tajima d -> error with dist.dna() -> character variables must be duplicated in .C/.Fortran
Hi,
For the last few days I have tried utilise your package "pegas" in order
to obtain some values for indices like the nuclear diversity and tajimas
d value.
I have modified my dataset (a text file containing dna sequences) in
order to be able to read it in with the tools provided by pegas. Here, I
have oriented myself on the description provided by the help-page in
read.loci().

removing daylight savings in R
Hi all,
I've been having some trouble with times in regards to daylight savings in R
version 2.8.1. I have an ORACLE database that R is importing data in from,
for the 2am and 2:30am time intervals for the dates that daylight savings
starts the times are getting read as NA values into R. I'm also finding that
if I open a R workspace from version 6.2.2,the datetimes are
