[PATCH net] virtio-net: correct error handling of virtqueue_kick()
Current error handling of virtqueue_kick() was wrong in two places: - The skb were freed immediately when virtqueue_kick() fail during xmit. This may lead double free since the skb was not detached from the virtqueue. - try_fill_recv() returns false when virtqueue_kick() fail. This will lead unnecessary rescheduling of refill work. Actually, it's safe to just ignore the kick failure in

[PATCH 1/3] virtio: fix virtio_net xmit of freed skb bug
If we fail to transmit a packet, we assume the queue is full and put the skb into last_xmit_skb. However, if more space frees up before we xmit it, we loop, and the result can be transmitting the same skb twice. Fix is simple: set skb to NULL if we've used it in some way, and check before sending. Signed-off-by: Rusty Russell <rusty at rustcorp.com.au> --- drivers/net/virtio_net.c |

[net-next rfc v7 0/3] Multiqueue virtio-net
Hi all: This series is an update version of multiqueue virtio-net driver based on Krishna Kumar's work to let virtio-net use multiple rx/tx queues to do the packets reception and transmission. Please review and comments. A protype implementation of qemu-kvm support could by found in git://github.com/jasowang/qemu-kvm-mq.git. To start a guest with two queues, you could specify the queues

[PATCHv2 RFC 0/4] virtio and vhost-net capacity handling
OK, here's a new attempt to use the new capacity api. I also added more comments to clarify the logic. Hope this is more readable. Let me know pls. This is on top of the patches applied by Rusty. Warning: untested. Posting now to give people chance to comment on the API. Changes from v1: - fix comment in patch 2 to correct confusion noted by Rusty - rewrite patch 3 along the lines

[PATCH V2 RFC 0/9] virtio: fix hang(loop) after hot-unplug vlan
Hi, this patch-set solves a hang situation when a vlan network device is hot-unplugged from a KVM guest. On System z there exists no handshake mechanism between host and guest when a device is hot-unplugged. The device is removed and no further I/O is possible. The guest is notified about the hard removal with a CRW machine check. As per architecture, the host must repond to any I/O operation

[net-next RFC PATCH 0/7] multiqueue support for tun/tap
As multi-queue nics were commonly used for high-end servers, current single queue based tap can not satisfy the requirement of scaling guest network performance as the numbers of vcpus increase. So the following series implements multiple queue support in tun/tap. In order to take advantages of this, a multi-queue capable driver and qemu were also needed. I just rebase the latest version of
