Application doesn't run without a CD
Hello, I have a situation here. I use a French dictionary "Le Petit Robert 2003" on a daily basis for my studies and it's probably the only thing left that ties me to Microsoft Windows. The problem when running it with Wine is that I am asked for a CD to be inserted. This application just won't run without it. The thing is that it shouldn't require a CD since I have made a

Recent changes in qdisc/cls APIs
Folks, I''ve been changing some of the classifier APIs especially bits related to the rate estimator and statistics between 2.6.8 and 2.6.10. This probably broke some external classifiers such as esfq. If you happen to use one of them just send me the correspondig patch and I will fix it up for you. Problem with SIP and DOS attacks...
There was a tread that I googled for and could not find about Asterisk being open to SIP DOS Attacks. I have a customer whose machine was hammered last light by traffic on its SIP port causing the OS to use up its resources. Namely number of open files. The discussion was around the fact that the Sip protocol answers requests without regard to authentication. Can anyone comment on this????

Thanks for the tips. I did find a detailed article on how to run Icecast 1.3.x in a chroot jail at incidents.org (actually it's in Google's cache, couldn't find it on incidents.org site anymore): http://216.239.37.100/search?q=cache:8Jnwn-j8Yh4C:www.incidents.org/protect/borland.php+icecast+chroot+jail&hl=en&ie=UTF-8 It doesn't really solve the problem of running Icecast

Smallest server continued...
This thread got me thinking of other servers that would run asterisk. The obvious question comes up if Xebian (the xbox version of Debian) would run as a SIP only server? Asterisk on an XBox would be a small box! Cheap too. Tom Schaefer
