Option to create livecd using new syslinux to support multiple machines.
Wondering what the best process would be to create livecds using
the newer version of syslinux.
Currently my G4L project has just been upgraded to syslinux 5.10
and works fine with regular 32 and 64 bit systems using the 32bit
kernels, but have seen comments about EFI and somethings
about 32bit only working with 32bit and 64bit with 64bit?
Since I average about 1,000 downloads per week, I

Creating LiveCD with EFI option?
I've been using various versions of syslinux as the boot loader for the g4l
project that I have been the maintainer of since 2004. It was already using
syslinux, so I've just updated it over the years, and currently have it use 5.10
version, but have done test builds with the 6.x versions.
Recently had request from to users about EFI support, and one suggested
that virtualbox has

EFI and proxyDHCP: setups
Patrick, I think I've been able to figure out some missing details
about your VMware Workstation tests. For a proxyDHCP, I'm using
dnsmasq. Could you try to confirm your test was the same basic setup?
On VMware Workstation 10 with a VMHWv10 VM set to EFI firmware for
x64, I've been able to get mixed results, depending on if a gateway is
provided. With a VMHWv9 VM, I see what appear

HDT site down??
Update. I renewed the dns for $16.67? Did the same last year, but it actually
showed it was expired last year? This year it just stopped working and dig
was showing it not expiring till next year? So, it seems to be back up. Don't
have any control on site, but anyone with an account can renew it.
Dear Customer,
We are pleased to confirm that you have successfully renewed the following

I have dyndns.org account, so added the name below and mapped the IP
address to it for now. Rather than having to remember the number.

Not sure what the status is.

Linux and HDT looking systems?
Can you detail at what time does HDT locks ? The HDT iso does provides a
verbose mode, It would be interesting to get when it locks.

Issue with timeout option?
I have a project g4l that uses syslinux and have been working on the next
version. I installed the 3.74 pre5, and it worked just fine. But I was doing a
test, and booted the systems, and usually pick the default kerenel or one of
the other kernels on the CD before it times out with 60 seconds. But this
time, I didn't do that. It loaded the default kernel with no problem, but then

Was just working with the latest 3.54, and find that the Makefile in the menu

Just a quick update. The cat.c in the com32/modules directory works fine.
Just added a printf("\nPress Enter to Return to Menu\n"); at the end since I
had some uses display the messages, and then not release all they had to do
was press enter to rerun the menu.
The display.c32 still does work, but know it doesn't lock the system so only a
hard reset works. Ctrl-Alt-Del works. I

ftp://kernel.org/pub/linux/boot/syslinux/ Gone?
When Kernel.org finally came back up, the boot directory and
syslinux were there, and it was the same files as before from what
I could tell, but now the boot directory is no longer there?
Wondering why it was there, and now gone?

I sure did check the firewall and selinux as well. As an extreme testing major, they are both turned off.

Linux and HDT looking systems?
I've got a user of my g4l project that is having a system that locks with my
kernels, but also with hdt? The default versions are using the 5.10 version of
syslinux, but build a special setup using 6.02 and it still locks with both the
kernels and the hdt? He was able to get gparted i486 live iso to boot on the
machine, so not clear what the issue might be.
The system is a Fujitsu T734

hdt error on syslinux 6.0.4-pre1?
Was seeing it I could get any closer with the efi boot using the 6.0.4, and
didn't have any more luck. Did a test with it in bios mode and it works for the
regular kernels, but when I tried the hdt.c32 I get the following error?
Undef symbol FAIL: parse_url
Failed to load COM32 file hdt.c32

.ERROR: idle with IF=0 with 3.81 syslinux update.
I just upgraded the syslinux on my g4l v0.31 alpha 05 for testing, and it
comes up to the syslinux (isolinux) from the boot cd fine. Then when I select
the kernel, the screen scrolls with the following lines for many iterations, and
then it seems to load the kernel and run OK.

Pre48 - syslxcom compile errors
I just downloaded the pre48 and ran make.
It ran fine for everything, but ended with a number of errors related to the
syslxcom program. Usually, I only see the messages about the windows
build since I am doing the make on a Fedora 10 system.
Is there something new that has been added that requires something that I
am missing? From looking at the program this isn't related to the isolinux

OT:Question on gen-id.sh $id
Somewhat off-topic.
I've noticed for some time, when one recompiles the syslinux, that
it uses an id that is created by the gen-id.sh script that seems to
be a hex string by making the id variable equal to the $tim
variable.
I had modified the script to append the the prexx of the directory
to the $tim variable. Tested it with the pre15 and pre17 that came
out today. The first one
