Fwd: Possible to load VBIOS TSR from MEMDISK, then load Linux?
Intel has VBIOS updates available that end-users typically cannot use unless their vendor includes it in a system BIOS update. The only exception is being able to use a DOS TSR (terminate and stay resident) executable, which doesn?t work e.g. in NT-based Windows. However, I do not know if this also applies to Linux (and that may be a question to ask elsewhere). However, regarding MEMDISK, would it

request backport fix for isolinux 4.xx branch
Recently a patch by HPA was added to the elflink branch, "isolinux: Clear upper half of EDX before using..." http://git.zytor.com/?p=syslinux/syslinux.git;a=commit;h=870b84dd8714d dfccc9288025331423efa6d76b7 The patch was then applied to the firmware branch too. The patch solves an issue introduced by a prior commit "isolinux: Update LBA in getlinsec loop". Since the

6.3 missing updates and packages
Hi, The fact that apparently the last tigervnc update from upstream was missed triggered me to check for missing updates and packages in 6.3. Here are my results. Sorry for any false positives that might have crept in, but note that some of the 6_x updates actually are updates and not a parsing error. And perhaps an occasional false positive due to having to compare upstream SRPMS vs downstream

Switch desktops - game dies
Wine 1.3.30 When I switch from the desktop WOW is on to another one, then switch back, I can't bring the game back up. I have to close the icon in the tray and restart the game. I think there's a config solution for this, but I can't remember what it is. If someone could point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

workspaces/desktops/viewports on top/bottom of cube?
I know this has probably been asked before, but, I'll ask anyways: Workspaces/Desktops/whatever on the top and bottom of the cube, is there any chance this will ever happen? I love how in gnome you can have work spaces in rows/columns, and i tend to have 4-6 workspaces (well 6, but only 4 gets used all of the time, but its nice to have the "buffer" workspaces. since using compiz

Sane value for Number of Desktops?
Would it be possible that the max restriction for the number_of_desktops option could be set to a sane value. At the moment it's set to a maximum of ~32,000. Realistically whose going to want 32,000 workspaces! It makes the option really hard to set in compiz-settings because slider increments are too big. I think it woulb be more sensible to set it to max 100 (probably less). -- Thanks Ben

Multiple Desktops in wine
In user32.dll SwitchDesktop() is marked as fixme. Is it possible to run multiple desktops in wine? If so can't we implement SwitchDesktop() or are there any limitations in implementing this?
