isohybrid --uefi - resulting EF00 partition too small
Hello everyone,
I am maintaining a distribution loosely based on LFS and am now trying
to add UEFI support. Integrating a FAT formatted partition image
containing, preloader, gummiboot, kernel and initramfs correctly results
in a ISO image that is bootable on BIOS and UEFI systems if booted from
the optical drive.
However, when I run
isohybrid --uefi name-of.iso

installing extlinux on a fresh system. Why does it fail ?
Thanks
I let GParted create the file system. It was done on a rescue disk of
Ubuntu 12.04 (GParted 0.11.0)
I think that the problem is in my command line.

Determine from which device syslinux booted from
The RAW nature of Disk Imager fails to leverage the unique intentions of UUID to surmount the problems of multiple bootable drives in the same system for purposes of knowing which one you actually booted from and should continue to use.

i2c bus access
Hi,
Yes, probably using syslinux as 1st stage bootloader and a small linux (and
this [1]) as 2nd stage boot will be a quite good solution.
A bit more explanation about my needs: my custom hardware has a i2c
controller over PCIe bus. We are using Intel Atom (with EG20T hub). I think
that is not so simple to create a solid i2c framework inside syslinux to do
it. Even thought I will need i2c to

Determine from which device syslinux booted from
Then again, I suppose you could have a script in your init that detects when it has been booted from a *special* UUID. In such cases it goes to the first instance of a volume with that *special* UUID and re-writes it to a genuine UUID, as well as updates the syslinux configs on the volume. You could then create your seed image with that *special* UUID and then even an XP user could write it to a

Syslinux 5.10pre1 - Failed to load COM32 file .c32

Since I have some some adventures in UEFI PXE booting ahead I tried to
go with the latest syslinux development snapshot in this case 5.10pre1.
But I already fail when booting from CD with
Failed to load COM32 file .c32
I am a bit perplex since no name of COM32 files is given. I am trying to
trace down the issue as good as I can. COM32 files present are:

Kernel selection by hardware?

No. I need to detect a given machine by something unique. E.g. the
MAC-address of the Ethernet Interface CPU-id or such, because I have custom
kernels for all the machines.

Build a recent xorriso - this can be run from the build directory
without installing (thanks, Thomas!):
