PXE Boot Menu with iSCSI and AOE!
Dear developer, I am working on a project for my graduate work (diploma), which includes iSCSI and AOE booting. I made some menus using pxelinux and things are working fine with linux, but I have a small problem with windows system which require direct iscsi or aoe access. I have dhcpd.conf setup that it to each first dhcp request handles out pxelinux.0, then I can chooose from that menu which OS

Checking if host is on the same subnet
We are doing a deployment across many sites, we're doing one site at a time and we're bringing a "mobile server" (a laptop, really) to keep traffic local instead saturating the WAN link of each site. I'd like to make a script so each client can determine if the mobile server is on the same subnet either with a ping with a zero TTL value, with the ip/netmask and a bit of

lpxelinux.0 - 6.02 - failed to load ldlinux.c32
Hello Geert Thanks for replying.. But i think i can?t use it, as i don?t reach the point where the debug module will be available.. it just pulls the lpxelinux.0 and tries to get the next download-- the ldlinux.c32 and it fails...and freezes. And the next step would be other modules i think.. if i?m wrong.. excuse me 8-).. yesterday i managed to get ipxelinux working from ipxe.org.. so the nic

Confusion on lpxelinux vs. gpxelinux vs. ipxe vs gpxe.
Hi All, I've been trying to understand how to use pxechn.c32 to chain a local pxelinux menu item to a remote server which has it's own pxelinux hierarchy served via TFTP and HTTP. We have no control over DHCP next-server and filename fields so I wanted to exploit the "prefix" -p option that pxechn.c32 accepts. I spent a long time hitting my head against a brick wall until I

PXE booting WinPE with UEFI architecture
With the BIOS architecture, I was used to boot WinPE from PXELINUX. I used 4 different ways: 1- Calling windows' native PXE loader directly from the config file with a 'kernel' line. 2- Calling windows' native PXE loader with pxechn.c32. 3- Loading an ISO with memdisk 4- iPXE project's wimboot, which relies on memdisk Methods 1 and 2 are slow because loading the bulk of the

UEFI PXE boot & Microsoft DHCP
I'm currently using Microsoft DHCP to enable PXE booting. I've set options 66 and 67 for the relevant scopes and it's all fine and dandy. However, UEFI machines won't initiate PXE boot, they don't seem to recognize the options. Is there another setting that need to be set? And how to I filter UEFI clients so I set option 67 to the right value (lpxelinux.efi)? -- Alexandre

Syslinux Digest, Vol 116, Issue 20
Hi! We use Windows tftp-servers (so I dont think switching now would be an alternative). But I can try to suggest it. More specific, vendor id of the mac address, is what I want to be able to "choose" (if match) which bootmenu to display. Like all broadcom NICs we have would boot the undionly.kpxe "menu!! (I am having some trouble with broadcom (PCI fiber) and iPXE :) And the

Windows Server DHCP + UEFI recipe
A small how-to for encapsulating option 210 inside option 43 on Windows DHCP servers would be welcome then :-) And as far as UEFI x86 system go, one would simply have to create another vendor class with the value PXEClient:Arch:00006 On Wed, Jan 15, 2014 at 12:05 AM, Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com> wrote: > On Tue, Jan 14, 2014 at 8:52 PM, Alexandre Blanchette > <blanalex at
