3.53-pre5 released - release candidate
Hi all,
I have received a fair number of bug reports over the last few weeks
-- even days -- and I am therefore declaring 3.53-pre5 a release
candidate for a 3.53 bug fix release.
This 3.53 will not contain either of the two major features under
development -- client side state (including boot-once) and gPXE
integration -- since I want to avoid destabilizing the code base beyond
the bug

[LLVMdev] Host target triple on Windows
I'm trying to figure out how to get, from CMake, the architecture of the
platform that I'm compiling LLVM for. If I'm building LLVM on x86, I want
x86. On x64 I want x86_64. On arm arm. etc.
The best I can figure out so far is that I should use LLVM_HOST_TRIPLE, and
extract the first component of this. At least if my understanding is
correct, I should have the following behavior:

[PATCH] Makefile: Move Makefile fragments into mk/
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at linux.intel.com>
Move the MCONFIG files into a mk/ directory and give them more
descriptive names.
This is purely a cosmetic change to make the 'include' directives a
bit more coherent by making it obvious exactly which MCONFIG file
we're including. For example, in com32/lua/src/Makefile we exchange
the line,
include ../../MCONFIG

bcypt availability
Dear Timo,
Do you intend to introduce bcrypt into the built in password schemes?
In lew of all these hacks lately many larger companies appear moving
this way, we are looking at it too, but dovecot will then be the
weakest link in the database security.
So, are you planning on this and if so what sort of timeframe /
version would you expect it to be in beta ?

[PATCH 00/20] Switch to ELF modules
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at linux.intel.com>
This series fixes some bugs and switches the elflink branch to be
entirely ELF modules. It applies on top of,
http://syslinux.zytor.com/archives/2011-April/016369.html
The deletions in the diff stat below are mainly from deleting
com32/elflink/modules (finally!). Now there should be no duplicate
code because we don't need COM32 and

[PATCH] net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPS
I think that it may be appropriate to submit this patch for linux-next
instead of 3.15-rc4...

[PATCH] [resend] net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPS
SET_ETHTOOL_OPS is equivalent to :
#define SET_ETHTOOL_OPS(netdev,ops) \
( (netdev)->ethtool_ops = (ops) )
how it makes difference removing this code and replacing with the
code mentioned ?

[PATCH net-next] net: make ndo_get_stats64 a void function
The network device operation for reading statistics is only called
in one place, and it ignores the return value. Having a structure
return value is potentially confusing because some future driver could
incorrectly assume that the return value was used.
Fix all drivers with ndo_get_stats64 to have a void function.

OT: Issue with Kernel lock on hardware
I have a user of my g4l project that has the kernel just stop after showing
myri10ge
I built a kernel without that modual, and it stopped with the one after that.
Have tried the debug option, but it shows no more info.
The syslinux menu includes a number of kernels with various released
versions. The kernels have the nics and disk controllers build in instead of
modules.
Is there something
