Is CentOS-6.3-x86_64-netinstall.iso broken?
Hi,
I'm probably doing something wrong or misunderstanding how this is supposed to work.
I have written this ".iso" image to a DVD and booted from it. I then selected the first install option from the menu. I get some prompts and then I'm asked to specify where the media is. I assumed (there's that word) that I should just hit enter, thereby selecting the "from

lattice codebook
Hi all,
<p>I have read the the source code about codebook generation, but there are some
puzzles:
Where can I get a latticebuild description file?
How does one choose reasonable value0..value n on the second line of the
latticebuild description file(.ql) to latticebuild?
Does the output (xxx.vqi) of the resvqtrain have some relationships to the
latticebuild description file ?
Thank

question
Hi,
I have found a strange thing. If I copy and paste the R source file, then
the result is okay with. However, if I use R GUI (File icon and Source
File),
then the result is different. Please let me know possible reasons.
Many thanks in advance.

puppetd daemon vs. cron
Hi,
I''m running multiple vservers and have some aspects managed via puppet. I
noticed that puppetd consumes from 20 to 60 mb RAM and the longer the process
runs, the more RAM it takes. It looks like 60MB is the top what I measured.
Having a couple of vservers (11 in my case) this can already take up to 500MB
just for puppet! I''m wondering if there''s any downside in

Possible problem with "managing software with yum" documentation.
Howdy,
I'm reading your managing software with yum document and wanted to point out that
there could be a problem with the examples that show 'su -c" some command"'.
Su without the "-" or "- root" (e.g., "su -" or "su - root") will allow current
environment settings to be inherited by the new root shell. This could lead to

CentOS 5.3; x11 lost keyboard
Howdy,
I have an IBM thinkpad with it's "standard" monitor and keyboard. It's been connected to a larger monitor and usb keyboard and usb mouse. The xorg.conf is a dual head config.
This has been working for a few weeks now but has started failing.
During boot and subsequent login the keyboard and mouse (gpm started) and display (larger monitor) work fine. When I startx, the

Is this a bug by any chance?
Howdy,
I'm moving HUGE numbers of files from one hdd to another on one of
my RedHat systems and goofed by not specifying a target. Rsync went
to all the trouble of figguring out which files needed to be copied
and then blew up when it actually went looking for a target and
found none.
I have downloaded the latest cvs version which appears to exhibit
the same behavoir.
I know this is a UFU
